Screen Freez
« on: December 21, 2010, 08:28:47 AM »
So, I am back to having little small freezes when I pull the trigger.

In the past I was able to fix that by disabling weapons effects.  I have disabled now but it still happens.  Also, I think the effects are on even though I have them checked off.  Also happens about 50% of the time.  Not every time I fire.

Any ideas?  What else should I turn off?

If your USB stick is sharing resources, by this I mean if you have 2 USB ports in front of the computer those 2 ports are connect to 1 USB ,for the lack of a better term, spot on the motherboard.
Warning, when you change your USB port for the stick you will have to recalibrate in windows and in the game and if you do not backup your settings folder you will need to remap your stick.

Update your sound and video drivers.  If could be heat related, clean out the inside of the computer.

Not a lot of info to go on, so all these are just guesses

That's what I am looking for, guesses.  I do have a wireless mouse on one of the two USB ports in the front.  I ll move it and see fi there is any difference.
Sound and video drivers are up to date.

Thnx

Using HiFi custom soundpack?  If so, try using default sounds to see if the problem persists.
My Current Rig:
GigaByte GA-X99-UD4 Mobo w/ 16Gb RAM
Intel i7 5820k, Win7 64-bit
NVidia GTX 970 4Gb ACX 2.0
Track IR, CH Fighterstick, CH Pro Throttle, CH Pro Pedals

Yeah, that was going to be my next move.  Just wondering on the gun effects since I have them off but I still see them (or so I think) and that was the problem last time I had an issue like that.

In any case, I am moving the mouse and going to the default sound pack tonight.

What kind of stick do you have ? Most joy sticks will benefit from a USB powered hub.  Yes, using the default sounds may help.

If your using a video and/or sound card, pull each one out one a time and run it with just on board sound and graphics.

What is your operating system and antivirus/firewall ?   Try disabling the antivirus.

Try and find a old version of game booster, not the new one they added a bunch of useless garbage with their current release, it shuts off services not needed when gaming.

Still guessing here..
