GV spawn delay?

is there a delay when you GV spawn, from the time you see yourself appear to when the campers see you?

There is no canned delay.  The obvious delay is the network connections and proliferation of data to everyone involved.

The remote spawns are the most problematic.  When you spawn at a field, your computer should already have knowledge of all the enemy around you.  It could give you an advantage.  Remote spawns, means you have to get all the information, after you spawn and it could give the other players an edge over you.

I have no idea.  It takes as long as it takes to get it all sent to your computer.  If you are on a wireless connection, I can see it easily taking that long.  If you are running any anti-xxx software, sure it can take a long time.  If your computer is struggling with resources, it can take a long time.

Too many variables to list.

Ideally, you are on a wired connection which is free from dropping packets or bit errors and your computer is clean of any interfering software as well as having the resources available to handle all the data.

No, this is not a monitor issue or frame rate issue.

Have you run a ping plot to see what the connection is like to the server?

Are you having long spawn times, even when spawning at the field?

It seems to me that it effects the spawning in player the least. 

Example:  Attempting a take, I camp the spawn hanger while the troops are on the way.  Hanger comes up, and I hit the first tank out of the hanger.  As more people start to spawn out of the hanger, one appears out of thin air already out of the hanger, and the first thing I see is a muzzle flash as the tank appears. 

Given the time it takes to start and move forward, I suspect it was several seconds before I it even appeared on my end. 

It's all good...  I accept the limitations of internet play.

what are the symptoms of long spawn time?
because to me, I seem to appear mill secs after I hit the button.

It really is a matter of "luck of the draw".  The only advantage can come in the two scenarios I suggested and that is not guaranteed.

Is there anyway to do a UDP ping to find out if routers in our path are unfriendly to UDP? TCP always gets through eventually.
