From 60 to 9 FPS?

What gives?  :confused:

From 60 to 9 FPS on a 4 GHz 8-core CPU and a GTX 1080? Some serious buggery going on here. All graphics option set to default, shadows and post lighting disabled.

Anyone else having FPS drops like this?

Were you over a super large airfield with a flak base near by?

I found in cloud front testing with DX9 that my FPS would drop from 60 to 47 while at a super large airfield with a heavy cloud front going over with tracers going off all over the place at the 6 drones. DX11 would make it a bit better. Then I removed the high stratus layer and my FPS was back to normal.

What terrain was this and what field or fields were you over?

This was 30 minutes ago over/near a knit airfield. I'm running the dx11 version. I have Nvidia's FPS counter on and it dropped to 9 around the time I got the oil hit.

Was just flying here. Multiple reports of lagging. I had La7 lag back and forth 400 out which threw me off and made it frustrating. There were a decent amount of folks there. Not sure if it was a spike but many people reported it over radio.

dx11 is still buggy.  use dx9  you will be ok.

Dx9 is too CPU intensive. For some reason AH only uses one of my eight cores.

I have the same issue when I'm flying near ports or a CV but my FPS indicator still shows 59-60fps but the game becomes a slide show.

Not a dx11 only issue.  Happens to all sorts of folks, both versions.  Some with quite powerful PCs.

I posted this bug a couple weeks after ah3 went live, with little feedback here.  Fly around these large bases online and the complaints on radio range are numberous.

DX11 is where you want to be....DX11 utilizes that 1080 card like it is supposed to...DX9 not so much.

Need more info on that subject ask Skuzzy to post on it....

Largest Airfields have something wrong.....everyone gets FPS hit...going down to 9 though is a huge hit!

FX-8350 clocked to 4.5 GHz. It's not the fastest around anymore (hasn't been for at least three years if not more) but it's still equal to a 3 GHz i7 core for core. It's next on my upgrade list, but I'm waiting for the Ryzen.

I avoid those large fields like the plague I suffer major hits also but have the time the good fights are there
