Many things that are disrespectful don't cause actual 'harm', Sardie. For consistencies sake, how would you react if a movie company etched the names of the characters that die in a war film on the Vietnam Memorial as an advertising stunt?
How would you feel if a shampoo company made a commercial that digitally manipulated footage of jewish prisoners being herded into a concentration camp shower with bottles of their product? A commercial where they then had manipulated footage showing the previously crying prisoners coming out of the showers with big smiles and vibrant hair and finishing with a Nazi soldier holding a bottle of the shampoo and saying "Now Juden-CLEAN!" to the camera?
Just because nobody was killed by the ad doesn't mean that it's not tasteless. The company has the first ammendment right to do that with their advertisement, and I have the same right to be saddened and choose not to purchase their product.
