Jets fights and flight - 262 vs 262 - Kadehs

I'd like to quote some opinions of the participaints of Kadesh Snapshort about jet fight and flights

Well this was the first "Non-Standard" SnapShot I have ever run... We orignally had 12 pilots show for the Snap Shot which I deemed "insuficient" to host Mitle.

We did however have 262ers very interested in putting their skillz to the test. So we arranged a fighter intercept style of mission with even sides and proceeded to run three frames of "eye-opening" fights.

If you are signed up for Kadesh and have NOT hit the SEA to pactice in open combat in a 262 rich environment, you are in for a rude surprise... Go practice!

.....................

If the community was a little more open minded and be willing to try something different.

Contrary to popular belief, it is NOT a sin to fly something that uses "whistling ashcans" for propulsion...

A fun frame on a very attractive terrain; on I'd like to do again.

I think a lot of people would be surprised how challenging a guns only jet scenario is, and how much fun.

I'd like to open discussion about Jets vs Jets fights. They look very different - very high energies speeds hard gunnery...... different formation flight - less furballing more interseptions..... and lot of other things.

What do you think?

Flew jet vs. jet in Air Warrior quite a bit  (Migs/Sabres).   You will not do so well if you are a "yank and bank" type of pilot.  You had to actually use ACM to get the 6, it isn't easy!

It has been so long I will probably auger in first 5 minutes, but I am willing to give it a try -  schedule permitting.

You know I didn't flew in AW, I started from WB 2.77, and enjoyed a lot. WB on its way (looks like very long way :lol ) to bring Korean War theatre.

Yes flying jets needs know ACMs well, but what interesting is that because of high speed turn ratio depends more on maximum G pilot can take without blackouting and less wing load and even fuel. Also aiming become harder espesicaly deflection shoots - speed  higher and 262 108 30mm canonss has not best inital speed for its rounds. Furballing become harder distances are bigger you have less time before you see an icon up to he gets on your 6 ;)

The 262's in this game are not even set up properlly, they had 4 Mk 108's and carried a 1000lb. bomb load, and were mainly for shooting down bomber formations.;)

Before the whole IAF 105 squadron got shot, there was alot enemy ME 262 and they all firing at us badly.  However, I drop everything I had and start engaged against the enemy, I did damage one ME 262 with my P51D and got shot down.  I bailed out and rescue(Horn was with me also).  :D

you could just tell me what plane it is. Also I noticed you tried to post an image from this BBS. You need to right-click on the image and select properties, and use the addy there. :)
