Hi raven......
I'm sure that HTC uses technology to its full advantage in tracking players who would like to stay longer than the two week trial. As a paying player, I have a pretty good idea how they do it, but it would inappropriate for anyone to publish that information here. I'm sure HTC is flattered that you enjoyed the game enough to want to play more, so the issue becomes how can you play more affordably.
I realize that $30 U.S. is expensive for you, being from Australia. I'm from Canada and it works out to be about $42-45 (Canadian) per month. Unfortunately, HTC has no other pricing structures than the one flat rate of $30/month U.S. If you'd like to try on-line multiplayer flight simulations that offer lower rate structures, I believe Air Warrior is $10/month U.S. and I know that iEN's Warbirds is $9.95/month U.S., for it's easy mode ACA (Air Combat Arena). IMHO, neither of those products are on par with Aces High v1.04r2 and the only thing that rivals this is iEN's Warbirds primary arenas, but they are $1.99/hour U.S. I've had bills approaching $150-$200/month U.S. in the past using that environment, so you probably want to avoid it and stick to the ACA.
I hope this helps and perhaps in the future HTC will have a multi tiered approach to AH pricing that will permit you a cost effective way to enjoy an excellent flight simulation.
Regards,
Badger
