Great book, disturbing as well ...

In most cases they were jailed ( for spying

) and were lucky if released after 10 years. I think i've heard of some of them being killed by commies as well... not sure about the names tho.

Oc course the whole "spying" was nothing more the serving in the RAF and USAF during the war. They were brave and patriotic people.. but Stalin seen them dangerous for the "new Poland"

I finished reading a book by the same authors "For your freedom and ours" also about the kosciuszko squadron during and after the war. i'm wondering if it's the same book but with a different title.

I really enjoyed this book but i felt rather sad by the time i got to the end. The US and UK stabbed the poles in the back appeasing Stalin like Chamberlain appeased Hitler. The treatment of the poles by their allies was disgraceful. the poles were on the winning side in ww2 but got treated worse than the defeated nations. They were the amongst the most passionate and ferocious combatants of WW2. Why? because they were fighting to regain their freedom.

I can't help but feel ashamed for how my country treated the poles.

wasnt the movie a deep blue (somthing or other ) about a Chec who was imprisoned after the war by communist?
