Has anybody tried this game. How much does it cost and is it good or better than CS?

Make sure you wait for the 2.0 ver to be posted. Was suppose to be at 2:00 CST today.

Yep it's "free"...well the tax payers pay for it but it's better then being pissed away on another social program. :)

I play AA. It's a free download (better have broadband, took me an hour and 10 minutes on DSL), and it's free to play. I never played CS but I hear it's better than CS. I heard CS was plauged with cheaters so I never even bothered with it.

AA on the other hand uses a software program called Punkbuster to catch cheaters. In the event PB gets hacked it can be updated in minutes. (Once they have the fix of course)

I like the fact that the people who run AA tell us up front that yes...there are cheaters and this is what we do to catch them. They also ban cheaters for life :aok

Another (now defunct) game company used to tell us that their software couldnt be hacked. I still cant believe they thought we were so ignorant as to believe that :rofl

In the end you should be thankful for those players like us who switch to try and help keep things even because our willingness to do so, helps a more selfish, I want it my way player, get to fly his latewar uber ride.

Udet, yes UT2003 is needed. It's only $20 now and it's WELL worth it for RO.

Once you get through the training that IS required before you can play, it's alot of fun. Haven't encountered nearly so many dweeby kids there as in some of the others and sniping is encouraged. Playing a medic can be alot of fun as well.

I play AA but havnt been able to get in the last two days....could this be because of the upgrade

Question 2:

is 2.0 a whole new download or is it a patch?  I have to have a friend of mine that lives 6 blocks away download it cause DSL "is not available in my area"

Question 3:

I'm a resourcfull person...why am i asking this board questions that I can find the answers to on my own

While I don't know this for sure I'd guess it would require an entirely fresh download as this one deals with Spec Forces and not normal army pukes.

It's out on FilePlanet.

It's a 223mb patch from 1.9 to 2.0.

3D Gamers torrent seems to be working much better than sucky fileplanet.
By the time you're through with waiting, you would've already finished it by using bittorrent.
