The foundation of FRPP’s hot new 5.0-litre "Cammer" crate engine is rooted in the Ford SVT Mustang Cobra 4.6-litre four-valve engine family. However, the crate motor's flanged cylinder liners help provide 94mm (instead of 90.2mm) cylinder bores, creating the extra displacement. And while the motor employs the 2003-04 SVT Mustang Cobra "Terminator" forged crankshaft with six-bolt mains and Manley "H-Beam" connecting rods for superior strength, the block itself is specially reinforced in the crankcase web areas for high torque loads.

They are putting that in a compact car? It will become like the 109k, "some pilots called it a glove like fit, honest ones called it coffin like"

We used to do the same when we were young. We used to beef up a small block chevy in a monza. Anyone remember the 2+2? The sky is the limit with a small block.

LOL...I think what rude meant to say is putting that much power into a chassis that was never meant to handle it is creating a deathtrap.

Well the kit includes redesigned suspension, and obviously you would upgrade the brakes and wheels/tires like the car in the article.  Focus chassis actually does quite well with huge amounts of power.  Don't you guys watch WRC?

Interesting how car and bike manufactures are always constantly competing to build faster and more powerful cars/bikes. At a time when law enforcement around the world are trying harder to cut back on speeding drivers.

Latest bikes are surpassing F1 car power to weight ratio's. Scary when you consider the average skill of a rider is no where near as capable of handling such machines. Especially on public roads.

I've raced different types of bikes for years yet would only say I can ride my bike to about a third of it's potential on the open road.

Remeber when there was a fatal accident in an Australian "Cannonball Run" type rally few years back. These two Japanese guys crashed a Ferrari F40 on a desert road at over 250kph. Someone was quoted as saying. "Just because you own a Ferrari, dosn't make you a Ferrari driver"

F1 cars have about 1.5 lb per hp.  You sure about that ratio?

I wonder if I could fit that into the Mini.  Time to start checking the Mini2 forums again.
