Flight Sim Sound...
« on: November 06, 2003, 04:58:47 PM »
I'm having some issues with ATC voices on my computer.  They work, but come through very very choppy like they're talking under water and would like to know how to fix this and what settings and where they should be set.  I've tinkered with quality and other settings but nothing so far has worked.

Example..

"Cleared as filed to (insert fix) fly runway heading climb maintain 3000 departure on 132.3 squawk 7700 (uh oh!)"

sound like...

"C...ear s aisle to run[click]hedng climbbbb-bbb-maintrain tree ousand defarture n untree shoe tree bawk severn severn undred"

Try disabling hardware accelleration on the soundcard. I assume you mean FS2002/2004?

Wilco Wolf.

By the way do you have an email I can reach you at.  It's about eSkyWorld.

I've got a few bugs to work out with Teamspeak and how the whole thing works...I have installed all required software and FS Navigator appears to work but have not really tested it out yet.

I played with some settings and it sounds almost crystal clear now, just a hint of garble at the tail of all transmissions so I'm onto it.

Here is my e-mail, just lemme know its you in the Subject line.

how does eskyworld compare to Vatsim?  Because their website blows chunks...  Talk about clunky interface, let alone the ESM popup on every friggin page :Lame

I completed my first eSkyWorld flight this afternoon.  1:22:00 flight from my home base Bolton to LGA in a Lear45.  All was smooth, and even had Mr. Wolfala as my controller.  All in all it was fun, I just need some more bandwidth and I can start controlling.  I can't wait to start getting this worked in to an instrument ground school...MSFS' ATC is okay but it can't think and is not flexible like human ATC.  This is outstanding and if the ground school members have one simple program called 'Teamspeak' and MS Flight Sim they can be in the system to a realism not yet seen in simulators.  Very exciting.
