Maybe so, but you aren't doing any FSAA or AF with that GF 3 card.

With the 9800 Pro, jaggies are a thing of the past.

1280 x 1024 32 bit. No AA or AF right enough. Are they really worth it?  I read that AA causes blurry text in Aces High.

At that low resolution there's not any point in using aa or af, but you may find you can still get 75 fps (max refresh) at 1600 x 1200 and that will make a huge differance.

AA does not cause the blurriness (unless you use it on an NVidia card).  It is AF that causes the blurriness.

I have an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro, and I run at 1600x1200x32@85 hz, with 4X AA and 16X AF, and the only time I see blurry text in AH is when I've been drinking!

so is there any reason not to enable V-SYNCH ?

I've ran most games both ways with my radeon 7200  and I  can honestly see no difference one way or the other.   (my monitor is set to 75hz refresh rate if that makes any difference)

The reason to disable vsync is to benchmark your system.  The higher your benchmarked FPS is, the less likely your real FPS will drop below critical levels in complex situations.  After you have tested your unsynched FPS at various settings, turn vsync back on.

The only time it's ever useful to turn v-sync off is if you want to see some big numbers and don't plan to actually fly. If you ever get flamed with v-sync off you'll understand.
