good ideas but I dont see how making the game more immersive can be accomplished as a result.

Right now Im playing with the idea that when I am in AH its a game (not immersive) 90% of the time with the other 10% being a simulation (very immersive).

I would prefer a good 50/50 split but I dont think one exists yet   :mad:

Yeager, these ideas are just to add a "bit" to immersion. Feeling INTO a plane is the first step, feeling like flying a plane is the second step, and then comes the rest (about 1000 steps more).

in an extreme example: Imagine a plane with the external aparience of a P51, flying like a P51 but the a Tie Fighter cockpit.

The purpose of putting those bitmap gunsights in the game is so the end-user can customize it and put in his own gunsight that he prefers.

good ideas - especially the metric thing and realistic instrumentation.
