Dammit, I flew for _hours_ today and didn't find _one_ thing to whine about  .

FunkedUp arranged a mission to nuke the Rook HQ, which went really well, and with RW felt almost real. Had to bail as some unseen bastiche got my wing as I limped back home with 2 engines and a bleeding crew (magic bullet wounded them all at once  ).

I flew against Lizard3 and mate who were winging in 190's around A7, had a total blast, not to mention I didn't die once in my P-51 (doesn't happen every day, believe me  ).

Only two osties were seen, and me and someone else performed a surprise attack on them from about 400m, from behind a ridge. Loads of fun, even though I died on egress.

I didn't die to a single Chog (as far as I could tell)!!

Thanks for todays flying guys, I had a blast. We now return to our usual programming.

Believe it or not, I managed to RTB that sortie.  275 miles in a Spit 9, 3 dogfights, and the fuel multiplier, but I still had fuel somehow.

Be aware, though, that Wilfrid and I did do a retaliatory strike against knit HQ... which lasted for a few minutes... anyway.

Well, Wilfrid, as I recall one of us got home safely. I almost made it, but got a wing blown off within sight of A1 by an unknown killer (wasn't you, was it?  ). I recall one Lanc attempting to dive bomb the city, spectacularly unsuccessful of course, and Nath, apparently not thinking straight because of lack of oxygen (we flew at all of 18K too  ) calling "I'm going down to strafe, anyone wanna come?".

It was fun, though, worth a bail IMO. All of us on RW made for a very realistic confusion when the attacks started coming, personally I forgot to bomb on the first pass, firing away at an attacker with the tail gun, but nuked the HQ on my second run, thus redeeming myself. More like this, I say, I believe both the strike force and the defenders had fun with it.

Funked, I couldn`t believe you chased my lone Spit all the way down to the weeds when my engine was smoking. Talk about yer basic target fixation   I was dragging you to the refinery ack (at 5ft alt I think) when my engine stopped and you got me <S>.

Re upped in a Chog and got 1 Lanc - can`t remember who. Was too busy laughing maniacally when his left wing came off... that was just East of 56 so it might have been you Rickenbacker

Hehe Wilfrid that was fun.  Yes it was total target fixation!  
I figured once I got that low I might as well finish you.  We climbed a little after that and Rosco bagged a pair.  The way I looked at it, our Lancasters were low enough that we had to be the agressors, start a furball to suck bandits away from the bombers.  I don't know if it worked but the Lancasters did manage to get their loads on target.

Rickenbacker - I killed you.     You were the lanc just south of A1 with a single fighter escort? I got him as well, but he limped home with half a wing.

I didn't get the kill off you though - the guy who took out two of your engines did.

I also outmanoevered a spit into the ground and also had no kill awarded. Should have had at least two that sortie, instead of one assist.    

Great strike, by the way. We tried to get an organised fighter intercept, but apart from elements of No. 272 and a couple of others no-one seemed to be bothered. All we could manage was 1 fighter at a time trying to reach the lancs without getting knobbled by the fighter escort (which was very organised <S!> ).

Apart from taking you down, I made two runs at the bombers, damaging one as you were all dropping your bombs. Your fighters chased me away. I then made another run but couldn't get close enough to you to attack.

Enjoyed it anyway <S>.     It was like an historical scenario (which I think are the best thing AH has to offer, once the noverlty of MA has worn off).

Think that was me Wilfred.  I think all total there were 3 cons around at that point.  Corsair came in on me..I started hitting him (he tried going underneath and up) without tracers..but you kept coming.
