What does he think of the japanese then and now...and was he deployed to New Zealand (or Aus) for training before being sent out?

I do know that he was in New Zealand for a time recovering from wounds. He even mentioned a girlfriend in NZ... the dog.

MT, id like to know if they really feared snipers or if they just ignored the thought of them, or perhaps it was not that much of an issue there..

Also i would like to know if they did alot of parachute drops on the islands in those days.

Sometime in january im gonna take the navy parachute badge before i resign for good..its gonna be "cool" to have that badge on my shoulder for the last few says of my service time.
