F--- Microsoft!
« on: November 14, 2003, 04:58:49 PM »
I'm just tired of thier in ability to do anything. Spent my entire day trying to work out some printer problems, using Internet Explorer (which I and the two companies I spoke with today, concluded was the culprit) So I proceed to find a contact number for Microsoft and its a $254 DOLLAR CHARGE TO SPEAK WITH A F-KIN TECH SUPPORT AGENT!!!! Over priced BUGGY P.O.S. SOFTWARE! AND ON TOP OF THAT I HAVE TO PAY FOR SUPPORT!!! BS!!!

::Takes a deep breath:::

Think I'm going to become a MAC person... Will AH2 work with MAC? All these fluff'n viruses through Outlook etc... please lets boycott Micrsoft... who's with me! (I wish it was that easy just to switch) Grrrrrrrrrrr....

MS does suck.... but what can you do?

If macs where any good wouldnt they have more then like 2% of the market? wouldn't bestbuy sell mac software?

Best thing about macs? There early O/S was so bad they had to go to unix to get true multitasking!!

Oh and mac users are the worst. I think they give out Imacs to you when you register democrat, and or buy a yellow new VW beetle.

HAHAHAHA!..

Ok.. then a Linux man I will become

I think MAC doesn't have more of a share is because every other software is made for MS.. I've heard some friends who program, and do graphic design in MACs and (they say) they're 10x's more stable. If there is an error the MAC OS doesn't crash, it gives options to actually resolve the problem.. no Blue screen of death etc...

Plus I'd like to take a guess that 50% of those who buy computers doesn't know about MAC, or would be to afraid to move to MAC, because they probably even don't know how to use MS in the first place!.. I know plenty of people who don't know how to use their computer... me included (And I know how to program C++, VB .NET)

Who made the printer?

I hate to defend MS, but the bottom line is that it is still , by far, the best OS ever built.  Sure it has problems, but look at the reality of what we ask it to deal with:

How many different HW manufacturers are there, and how many different models of each piece do they have?

How many SW companies are there, each with a multitude of versions available?

The possible configurations is several THOUSAND multiples of the total amount of ATOMS in the frikin universe, my friend.  The miricale is that it works at all.

Also, I guess you are too young to remember DOS, and the nightmare of HW/SW installs that that robust OS entailed.

 The Mac used to have a pretty large software base, it dropped off cause it is not profitable for many company to develop mac stuff if it is only going to sell to a few people.

yeah that are more stable. But it is much easier to be stable when the only maker of mac hardware (for the most part) is apple.  Trust me though they are not perfect and you will run into bugs there as well. Just no as many. You pay a high price for that as well.

Oh and beware. Your Wrist muscles will get really weak and you may get a lisp.

Microsoft's support is expensive but it's also very good. I've never had to stay on hold for more than few minutes for them either. I've been on hold for 1-2 hours for tech support with some other companies.

I've heard mac is better but I've only heard complaints from those using it. (my union has a mac system).  maybe the problem is crappy software but since they are limitted in options.

as I see it, macs ar ethe betamax of the computer world.  beta was a better format mut nobody owned it, so nobody made videos in it, so nobody bought the machine.

so buy the better machine and have 4 movies to choose from, or buy the same problems everyone else has and choose between thousands of movies to watch.

btw- since xp I've been running 2 years without a major crash.  used the auto restore thing maybe 4 times, but no format and no lost data.

MAC did it to themselves, every thing was propriatary, if you wanted a MAC you had to buy MAC keyboard, MAC monator, MAC printer, MAC scanner, MAC software, MAC mouse, and Apple now admits they over charged for all their stuff.

years ago i bought a cannon color printer, a co-worker (who had a MAC) bought the same printer except his said Apple and he paid $100 more than i did for mine.

apple=good hardware, bad business plan.

MS now codes most of apple software.

Why does microsoft insist on keeping some services enabled and give hardly no option to disable?
Like what do I do with a crappy RPC port for example?
Most people doesn't do one thing.

Oh, I hate MS and the devil incarnate, Bill Gates.  But his software is powerful and the best out there.
