Skuzzy- Squad (club) options?
« on: November 18, 2003, 05:11:57 AM »
According to the help file it should be possible for a C.O. to "give" the ability to join, eject, or change the name of the squad to another member of the squad.  In fact our C.O. on the database seems only to be able to give the "join" command, the others reset to blank when attempted. There is no mechanism to pass on the C.O. spot.

As our current C.O. (Vulch) rarely plays due to business and social committments, he is unable to pass the abilities on to me (Spiffy).

It seems the only solution is to disband and re-form the squad.

However, we wish to retain the Kraits squad name, and on-line badge, which historically goes back to the early Air Warrior UK Dos Host in early 1994. The squad is more a social organization these days, as most members don't fly regularly so it is not of any great urgency.

Skuzzy - is it possible to set anything else to another member in the squad to other than the "join" ability?

To change CO's, the squad must be disbanded, then reformed under the new CO.

Once disbanded, the squad name can be used again when the new CO forms the squad.

Thanks, I thought that must be the case as it was the same in AirWarrior, though the help file indicates that other comands can be given to other squad members by the CO and not only the join command.  Perhaps the help.exe needs amending some time to be a trifle more clear on this point.

Yes other commands can be given to other members apart from the Can Invite..... as far as I know they work OK.... just tried it with my current Kadesh squad in the SEA, and was able to give permissions for Eject and Change Name to one of the members with no problem.  As long as SET is clicked after selecting all options required.  :)

Thanks Florence. :)

Apparently that didn't work for Vulch, it reverted to join only again.  I'll get him to try it again, making sure he remembers to click set.

You never know, he may not have done that !!
