Across our great Country.

So which CD's would you bring along, and if you had a DVD player for passengers... suggestions?

MT go get some un abridged Books on tape or CD. We drove up to WA state this summer. 15 hours. My GF would not let me listen to my music so the trip up was 10 hours of country and 3 hours of 80s music, lol 2 hours of mine while she slept.

It was HORIBLE!! seemed like we where driving for years.

The trip home was 12 hours of an un abridged book on CD, it was SOO much better, the last two hours was back to country, but what can you do?

for long road trips ( I do 'm regularly for work) I highly recomend getting a cd player that reads mp3 discs. or if your car stereo doesn't play them then get a mp3 discman or I-pod with the audiobug (it broadcasts your player over an fm chanle)

aside from the 10 hours or so of custom music per disc. you can store 10 albums on a disc so you aren't jugling discs and flipping through the cd cases at 80 mph. also your original cd's stay home, safe from car breakins.

I drove from the Bay Area to Chicago alone, and before leaving bought a box set of Monty Python. Was like 4 hours of tape and way worth it.

2 1/2 or 3" dyno max turbos through decent headers. 2 chamber flowmasters are fine too for a roadster..

Will this be a one vehicle trip or a bleeding heart liberal convoy?

I am told liberals enjoy listening to Peter, Paul and Marys "Puff The Magic Dragon And Other Greatest Hits CD".

May I suggest you make your own CD's if you have a burner? Just make several "best of.." and "My favorites..." CD's to listen to out of your home stock.
But IMO there's a lot to be said for listening to the different stations as you drive cross country. While much of the music formats are the same (can't escape Clear Channel) there is some local culture to be enjoyed as you listen to the DJ's and discussions as you drive through the different states. Opinions on issue will differ (somethimes greatly) as you travel from one region to another.
