Squad night rules

I think tonight was probably the most fun I've had flying online sims to date.  There is nothing like being part of a squad, fireing up RW and going on a suicide mission.   Second mission we took jabo spits and captured A5. Big S to all the 308 and other knights that participated. Tonight alone was worth the price of admission.

I tell ya, with the view system, low icon ranges, rolling terrain without all the osties roaming about, and the mission planner, this sim rocks!

Glad you enjoyed that mission.  I was bored today and planned it and flew it solo to test it.  RTB is actually possible but you have to use 6 psi both ways, so that means no bandits.  We had bandits coming and going, so we were screwed.  Flying with 12 Spits in formation, nap of earth, clouds, sunset, sheep, ahhhhhhh what more can you ask for!

<S> Mighty1 for actually opposing our little foray.

Yes!  Hey 308!!  Thanks for letting this JG2 guy join ya for that last mission to A28.  I had alot of fun.

banana sorry for getting too low, too close to the field!!!       How many Spits did we have for that mission??   Also sorry to Ricken!  I was messing with my Icon settings and must of turned enemy OFF!!  Found my error but Ricken (Who was in my flight) got hit and had to ditch.  Ricken never went off on his own but stayed with me throught out.  Without seeing red icons I couldn't see any enemies.  So in turn, I put us in a bad position!!

Great stuff 308 and thanks again!!

BTW,  I got some cool snapshots of ya Ricken!!!!  Also Bloom25 was also flying a Spit in this mission!!!

Rock:  Ya see that Ensign, lighting the cigarette?
Powell: Yes Rock.
Rock: Well that's where I got it, he's my son.
Powell: Really Rock, well I'd like to meet him.
Rock:  No ya wouldn't.

Had a great time, 4 members of VMF-323 were up, and the A5 and A28 sweeps we had approx. 10-15 kills with no losses (Except Pluto when he disco'd)...Apache and I arrived over A28 ahead of the Spit Sweep, with the clouds, the sun rising, and the site of all those spit 'Dots' coming out of the cloud bank behind us was a spectacular site indeed!

It did look really cool.  I'm going to buy a regular modem today, and I'm going to call ATT and tell them where they can shove their cable modem.

I've been in many a battle in my simming days. But last night's grudge match between the Knights and Rooks was possibly the most intense night of air combat I've ever had, including my four years flying Warbirds.

I've never gone through so many different emotions during a night of fighting. I was alternately yelling, whooping and swearing at my monitor last night!

If only you could've heard RW last night. Wow! I dare say it would rival a real air battle in intensity.

Huge <S> to those dastardly Rooks and those Heroic Knights for the best fight I've seen on AH, bar none.

Just when I think I'm getting bored with this sim I have a night like I did with bananas description above, should heard my voice last nite on RW, high pitched and shaky (Kinda like real war!)

Yeah RW was funny.  I was screaming at Asmodan "GET AWAY GET AWAY" when I thought he was going to get killed by the respawners at A28.

The attack on A5 was the most fun I've had in AH since I started flying last jan.

Not only the brill sight of christ-knows-how-many spits takin off but the team-work was great.  I did better last night then ever before, 9 kills without losing a plane.  The 6 calls from fellow pilots were spot on and the cover provided perfectly timed.

After I dropped my bomb on A5 I found an F4U in front of me (bout 200yards away) so I opened up on him and saw more hit flashes than I've ever seen before for a good 5 seconds.....only then did I realise that I hadnt reselected the 20mm and had just fired 1000 rounds of .303 into the tail of this guy (and also worked out that the .303 is akin to a peashooter in this game).  Someone later on got that F4 and I got a kill message while I was RTBing so ta very much whoever it was.

Whoops, I lied, we did lose Apache on the A5 run, when a pilot rammed him, he became upset on RW but his style of upset compared to my style of upset is, well, Passive! <S> Apache, didn't affect me one way or another, except you missed out on some good killing of those enemy Chogs that were enroute to bomb A9 !

I had the dubious honor of being the first defending pilot to get whacked over A5 in a 12 to 1 engagement amid streams of ack, machine gun and cannon tracers.  Two manned flak guns were killed as well as a small number of defenders that tried to take off amidst four to six Spitfires hovering at each end of the airfield.  The initial attack itself did not surprise me as we had seen the gaggle of airplanes on radar.  The dots appeared above the mountain to the northwest and descended to the base en masse.  It seemed to be well coordinated.  What did surprise me is how many attackers simply augered while vulching airplanes on their takeoff roll and strafing the flak guns.  Watching from the tower I witnessed more than half of the initial wave of attackers hit the ground.  The second and successive waves did a good job of covering the airfield for the capture to take place.  I flew two more missions to A5 but missed much of the subsequent action when DirectX expired on my machine.  The barrage of pop-ups probably outnumbered all of the bullets fired at me in those first few minutes of the attack <G>.  Nice work but we'll try to be ready for you next time
