I don't know what's so funny about it. That lazs made a post to get a reaction out of people and did? Gee, like that's real hard. It doesn't matter how valid your point may be, if you post it in the form of a troll, you only undermine your point. His initial point was an unreferenced opinion that we did something in this area for gameplay purposes. How does that help us? We didn't do that so it's not exactly like we can just go and change it back to normal. Not to pick on lazs, as he does go on to make his points later in the thread, but I'd bet that lazs would freely admit that he intentionally tries to bait people with many of his posts.
If you want to credit somebody for getting us to go over all this stuff, credit Wells(not just from that thread but others) and look at how he approached it.
There is no perfect flight model, when we were working on WB, we made major changes in the flight engine several times. There is always something that can be done better. But the first step is to validly identify something as off(not usually a cut and dry case), then you have to determine the cause, then whether it's feasible to change, and finally figure how to make the change and have it work. Then you get to go do it.
In the end, we don't do things any different now than we have for the past five years. We're always looking to improve things and will continue to do so, but in a considered and thought-out approach.
