Anything with 2.5ghz or higher processor, a 533 or faster front side bus,  512 plus memory and of course an ATI 9700 pro or better.

I built the machine above around last Dec. for about 1400 bucks, I think you could do it now for anywhere from 600 to 900 bucks.

LOL Rut hehehe.

Good luck!

Its cheap to build a good one.The 2500 AMD Barton core is nice, but its not wide spread enough to be "regular" Takes a board that supports it.Which btw I found out after buying it and not having the proper board support.Go 2.5 or higher gig wise.Gig of good ram and a mid priced vid card.Onboard anything is bad,Eats resources.SB Live is a cood dependable card.

Yeah.. this is all good information if i wasn't all around retarded about computers, i just need a good company name and i will find the best system for the money, or try to anyways.  I am the type of guy that goes to Best Buy or Wal-Mart for his computers.  With that said, whats a good choice?

Im not getting a Dell just because of that homosexual Steve guy they put in their commercials.  I think his name is Steve anyways, but then again, I don't really give a damn. ;)

Steven smoked pot and was fired.

Lazer you TARD, welcome back :)

Please stay away from Wal-mart.  If you MUST, try not to ask one of the illegal aliens for computer help.

Just Drive over to LaCrosse and Hit the Best Buy,   Get a Cheap Emachine.

They are Great Bang for the Buck.    Iv had a few and they have been very reliable and solid for me.

The Suggestion of getting one that uses an AGP Slot for Video is a good one.   This is something that you might want to upgrade later.

Stay away from proprietary machines(Dell, Gateway, Compaq)....just find any small computer store and have them build you one....will work much better and you'll have local support. Also, the machine will be upgradable to a higher degree than a proprietary box.

Get the best motherboard you can afford....that alone will allow you to upgrade the processor....vid card, nothing less than a Radeon 9700 pro.

Build it yourself! It's not hard!

Get a DFI Lan Party Pro875B with any Intel socket 478 CPU (min. 2.4Ghz), 1 Gig of memory (or more), an Albatron Ti4680 graphics card, and an Antec TruePower 550 Watt power supply with the case of your choice. You could easily keep that in your price range while maintaining a system you could upgrade as time requires.
