4 weeks in mindnano ?
« on: December 05, 2001, 05:23:00 AM »
we couldnt reset it last time any of the countries ?
so how long do it stays up then?
Damn this was my favourite map.
if up after one week i hope its reset manually.
Its to small to take bases, and all ends up in furballs. Furballs is ok but not for days and weeks.

Yeah, broke my little heart last night to log on and see Mindanao up again.   Will we have to wait for the next patch before we get to play another field?  Thats what it took this time.  Guys were even using GVs again. Imagine!

I am all for an automatic field change if after 7 days the map hasn't changed.  HTC has often been receptive over players concerns before, I hope they dont turn a deaf ear to this one.  I know it is frustrating alot of players.

Well once you are used to having diff maps every week, it is hard to take the same one for weeks on end.

ok sax that's fair enough.  I still find sme of the maps so poorly laid out for gameplay that I would rather have the sameness of mind.. minand.. that map, than the poor gameplay of say, uterus.

Two things I dont like:

1) Ground vehicle action is pretty well prohibited.  No armor attacks can be made at the large majority of fields.  Armor fights are a great change of pace and add a new element to the strat.

2) It never changes!  Gets boring to fight the same fields forever.  Its too hard for any country to get a reset allowing a change.

It is the best looking map, IMO but the porest for game play,It is a good furball map, I am not a big fan of furballs, once in a while they are ok but it gets old.I prefer game play on every other map to this one even uterious. The west side is the worst of all very hard to do anything from their unless you have a numerical advantage, also imposable to atack the west side effectavely.
The lack of GV's would not be so bad if we did not get stuck on it for so long. The front line is two narow. it is almost imposable to atack the flanks of the aposing countries.

I already booked a room for X mass on minanado I expect we will be thier for it :(

I think if HTC made the ships tougher, it would be easier for players to win on that map.

If y'all hate it so much, why not organize a 3-country supported raid to take one country's bases and thus reset the map?  I've seen it done before (not in AH though), so it IS possible.

Or everyone who hates it could defect to one country and cause overpowering odds and orginization, and end it.

Map rotation is something the players DO have power over; if this map is so universally hated you CAN do something about it.  Just pick a time and a place to do it.

You don't have to jump to one side.

Have Bishes and Knits ally to attack Rooks, while Rooks agree to read a book, watch the tupe, see a movie or take a nap.

Voila, Rooks get reset.

I like Mindanao, but JAB is right- if you all switch to whatever side you pick (say Bishops, the dresses are cool), everyone on the side gets the points when the map resets. No arguing over who gets what.

'Course it is fine with me if the map stays there for months- I like it.
