ATI released a hot fix for the Cat. 3.9 drivers that fixes the crashes and VPU errors you get when playing COD.

Just a heads up!:aok

Heya Boxboy, I just went to ATI and got the latest driver, still getting lockups on the game though. I'm pretty sure I got the latest drivers, although the driver number was the same. Would you mind posting a link? thanks.

Watch it's not CPU temp thats casusing lockups.

me and my frend  runing call of duty  with no problems both use 3.4 drivers ,
BTW both of us have water  coled  MBchip ,HD, GC, and vapochiled Barton  CPU  and no 1 frekin glitch or lock up:)


forget to mention, we dont use standart voltage, ram at 2.8 ,CPU at 1.85 , and AGP at 1.6 ,  especialy Hercules  ATi card s  need litle more on AGP voltage i thing

The lock up was due to the drivers, not heat. Posting my system specs dosent really make me feel cool, so I wont. Thanks again Boxboy :aok

Had a few lockups in CoD using the 3.6's  Installed the 3.9's and the hotfix, and ran through the last 20 missions without a single hiccup.

Radeon9500Pro here.

Plus, my FRs went up.  :)
