Well, it's time to make some personal decisions.
After reading and digesting thog's comments (paraphrasing) about allocating just so much time in one's life for playing AH as a game, therefore not wasting a lot of cycles thrashing about on this BBS, something dawned on me. This BBS has become a game unto itself for many people. It has indeed drawn many of us into it's environment, constantly hashing and re-hashing the same topics and minutia. It's like one huge mean cycle that never ends. I would venture to guess that Hitech and Pyro have seen exactly the same posts over the years as WB's developed and most likely the same on-line personae's play out their verbal struggles time and again.
So, my point? Well, as with thog, I came to AH to play a game based upon on-line multiplayer flight simulation of WWII aircraft. I didn't come to participate in lengthy social debates about the use of profanity or importing women for wives. I wanted to play the game in order to relieve the stress and escape the every day real world routine of business challenges. In the last few months, I've found I've been spending far too much time with everything except actually playing the game.
Therefore, I've taken some actions to regain control and get back to why I signed up for AH in the first place. First, after almost five years of membership, I cancelled my WB's account at iEN. I have also deleted my links to AGW and iEN's BBS. Here, I've decided to cease participation on this BBS and after this message, will delete this link as well. I'm not exactly sure if that will work completely, since as a member of vadr's III/JG2 squad I may need to retain access to the squad forums. I'll play that by ear.
Anyway, I will see you all on-line enjoying the game for the purposes I originally intended it to be.
Regards,
Badger
