i changed a light buld last week in my closet. i could have used a ladder, but i used a chair.

that wasn't safe, i could have tipped over. also its one of those fixtures in the celing where a bulb just screws in. those scare me, i always think the bulb is going to break and i'll get cut or electocuted.

shouldn't this be n the "hardware" forum anyway? i mean it is about a piece of electrical hardware.

in your title for the thread you put "how many" as howmany. dude how are we supposed to read that?

speeling is overrated any way though.. no offence meant.

so this lightbulb (or is it light bulb or even light-bulb) i changed is supposed to be a good one. some GE "pure white" or something.

do we all use GE bulbs? i think they are overrated. shouldn't the government step in and bust up their monopoly?! im mean really who buys those cheapo brand bulbs then have them burn out in a few days? though GE bulbs don't always work great too.

working for Xerox one of our clients is GE and i get to go there and wander around. i've seen the secret "lamp"  design lab and those are some sick bastages. they test the lamps on puppies. i dont know how that helps make a better light-bulb but it must do something... i mean they're GE for gosh sakes. why would they do something unnessary or unethical?

i found this: http://www.bulbs.com to be the best place to get lamps. i mean who really has time to go to the store an get some while you are buying milk?

these: http://www.gelighting.com/na/reveal/ are the light bulbs im currently using. they give ok light but they sure dont seem to last good in my closet. the light definatly isn't as "white" as those new headlights you see on cars.

oh BTW

BTW,

6 to either completely miss the point of the thread or to outright intentionally hijack it.

30 to insist that they dont and that the french dont have light bulbs because the germans took them away when they left...

If so, I regret making the c & p comment. Everybody does it, and I enjoy doing it and reading it as much as anyone. Ripsnort comes up with a lot of good stuff, and I enjoy his posts. I was just having some Thanksgiving fun here, is all. :)

5 from other countries that have banned light bulbs and can see no reason that anyone would really need light.  They will explain that since the ban everyone is happy being in the dark.

4 Megatard Voss types to use the thread as a pissing contest so that they can brag about how much better they are at anything remotely related.

3 more to explain how they don't really care too much about light bulbs so long as only the right people are allowed to change them and that those people are registered and regulated by the government and.... wear all the proper safety gear.
