Wild Wednesday AAR

Wrong forum, but who cares.  This is here to generate more interest.

This was the first event I ever hosted as a CM and it ws a BLAST!  Thanks to sling for watching my back :)

Hitech made a cameo appearance as did Pyro.  Fester took round 1.

Round two started off with everyone screaming KILL FESTER.  They tried, but Fester got 5 and it was Fester and Zigrat last two pilots.

Zig made a few swoops and had the advantage, but I couldn't understand why he wasn't going in for the kill...turns out he was OUT OF FUEL.  Zigrat did kill Fester, but as the rules state you MUST BAIL WHEN OUT OF FUEL OR AMMO.  Result:  Fester took round two and won Wild Wednesday once agian.

FYI:  NEXT WEEKS PLANE IS THE MOSQUITO as chosen by Fester.

I wanted to have a third frame with LANCS as a test to see how it would go, but I couldn't let Zigrat's victory over Fester go unrewarded.  I gave Zig planechoice for ROUND 3 and he chose the 190A5 (big surprise there).

Round three went off without a hitch..unless you count the 262 that showed up unexpectedly ;)  The 262 was just there to put fear in the eyes of the pilots and to herd the "sheep" into the middle.

Leviathan, Seeker and BigMax fought a 3 way furball that ended in Leviathan taking Round 3.  Since we were out of time..he gets Fatty's mom as his victory prize!

Great fun..Wednesday is now my favorite day of the week due to Wild wednesday.  Try it out.  10:00pm EST Wednesday nights.

========================================
Observations as a CM for your enjoyment:

1.  You are all flying for the same country...why use channel 1?

2.  Fester always wins..why not get him first?

3.  Why was my .mute command not working?

4.  WTF happend to my keyboard?  Can you say spellcheck?

5.  When getting disco'd as a set-up CM as the player roll off for frame 1 don't panic.  <I was swearing so loud at my puter I woke the kids :)> )

I had fun..thanks for your patience as always.  If you have fun next week bring a friend.

Lots of fun as usual.  Wish I could have been there sooner than Round 3, but if Fatty's mom is the prize... umm...

Because if you chase Fester, the three guys behind you take you out. (voice of experience)

Yup I've seen so much bastardly conduct through the CM eye when it comes to chasing Fester.  He must laugh his bellybutton off when he sees his persuers get bored and start picking eash other off :)

By the way, to answer a question that was brought up last nite....we do have a terrain that was set before us to look over specifically for Wild Wednesday.  Hopefully, we will see it soon in the arena for WW.   :)

Good news, Sling  :)

Here's a question: Is it possible for some one to join you as CM and thus see through your CM eye? or doesn't it work like that?

Actually we have tried that Seeker and all the "joiner" can see is the tower and a buncha sheep I think.  It would be pretty cool for everyone to be able to see with the CM eye though.  For now, we are going to try to get some invisible towers built in the terrain that hang in the air over the dueling area on the new map that will enable dead guys to view what is going on.  We had this in the Rumble 2001 terrain and it was really cool.   :)

I got there late...was my first time in WW.

Launched in the 3rd round...grabbin out in a 190a5....figured, a good time for a smoke...afk...walking back to puter hearing rounds impacting my aircraft...spiraled down to my death.

Wild Wednesday is not fair :(

 :D

How are the starts handled so that some guy doesn't climb out on your six?

Fester, if yea got the spirit in yea, could you give me some lessons?

I saw you saddle up on that smokin' bird, i saddled up on your 6, and started to slobber on myself thinking an easy Fester kill, 2 seconds later you handed me my ass!!!!

most everyone spreads out and tries to avoid eachother on climbout so it is not a problem for most all players.

has been some cases of 6 sitters on climbout though but rarely.

climbing out I try to aim towards the center as I guess most do once they get some distance from everyone else.

works out best if everyone tries to work their way towards the center then no long flight times for the last survivors to kill eachother.

flying around the edges of the map waiting for the end of the frame (f5bomber style) is taboo and should not be attempted.  :)
