Spits!:) The Spit IX and Spit XIV in particular. Though i fly most of the RAF planeset generally.

Spit 5, or any other turney plane. Hurri C is pretty good. But, other than that. P-47 D25.

P-47D-30 when I have time to climb to altitude & hunt down 4+ kills per flight.

The rest of the time, I'm flying the Bf 109G-10[/i]. Simply said...the G-10[/i] builds skill. The plane forces me to watch my airspeed from the initial dive to the end of the angles fights. And, more than any other plane I've flown so far, it really[/u] punishes me for ignoring its limits & rewards me for flying within them.

P-38L - A challenge to fight with, fast, seems to have spare parts so you can rtb.
P47D-25 - Challenge to fight with, good for attack missions, flying tank.

P-38L for the most obvious reason. It's the ultimate uber dweeb ride. Great gun and ordnance package, no trimming is necessary, no engine torque, unsurpassed in the vertical and the bane of dweebs all over the world.

Since I didnt see it mentioned yet, yak-9u

speed (can withstand a sustained, high speed dive without compressing too much).

turns with most things for a turn or two (more on others)

short ammo clip, so I have to be very close to the target.

awesome cannon (especially on the 9t).

in short the yak is my comfort plane -- when all else is going wrong, I climb back in and play -- even if I have a bandit saddled up on me, the small size of the yak makes it hard to hit.

F6F Hellcat, by a mile... mainly because the first flight sim I ever tried was called Hellcats, for Mac, years ago. I got to love it, so I bought a little model and glued it together, it still sits on my computer. Then I got Warbirds, and it was in there too.

Historically, it was the plane that won the war in the Pacific for the allied forces. For every one shot down, 11 Zeroes bit the dust, apparently. Very sturdy plane.

Well, the F6 *is* officially credited with having the highest kill ratio in the PTO. I'd have to pull out an old book to back it up; someone else might have the info handy, though.

Personally, I prefer the real P-38, too.

(p-38 = my favorite real WW2 a/c)

I'd say you'd be pretty hard pressed to find any other fighter that had a larger impact on the PTO than the F6F Hellcat.

F6F-5 Hellcat - One of the best all around planes in the game, and not being dweeby. I suprise some niki dweebs and spit dweebs into making them turn with me, but I still end up nailed em with my 50's. I've learned how to become a better pilot with this plane, I learned how to keep my E, which is why I became an ace.

P-38L Lightning - Have been messing around with this plane for about 6 months now. I love it for attacking bases definately and it's fun to go vertical on the niki n spit dweebs and have them follow.

I'm suprised no body has chosen the P-51D or B yet.

I think overall, it's not what plane you fly (to a certain extent it is), but it's the pilot skill and how he uses he E to fight. Aces high isn't just a test of skill or how well you can shoot, you REALLY have to know your stuff, ACM, BCM, which is why I'm here to help anyone out if they have ANY questions at all. I've been watching and playing this game for about 3 years no, so I've seen it all, so if any of you guys got questions, my info is down below.

P51D of course..

And i fly the P51 because its such an easy mode plane, and i wish not to fly anything else that requires skill.
