"Drive On The Reich" Grade
« on: November 29, 2003, 06:05:28 PM »
In an effort to provide useful feedback to our CT CMs, I’d like to suggest that we grade each set-up AFTER it’s week long run has ended.  I’d also like to recommend that we grade on a curve, a tough C average curve.  Most set-ups should get grades of “C”, because we are comparing them against all CT set ups.

Please do not use this as a vehicle to bash individuals, only to point out as a whole how you liked a particular set up.

So please, suggest a grade for "Drive On The Reich".  Add comments along with your grade if you wish, but everyone who played, please post a grade.

And remember, a “C” grade in the CT beats the heck out of an “A” in the MA or any other game.  A’s and F’s should be rare.

C

Great plane match ups.
Presence of the Tiger on one side only frustrated the GV aspect of the war.
The action seemed a bit slow and the drives seemed a bit far at times.
Encountered many who were to high or fast to fight.

C+ to B-.  A+ for the map. I had alot of fun in the 110, maybe too much. I think maybe the Spit I should be enabled everywhere to counter the 110. Just a thought.

Storch may not have done it ... yet ... but expect Hurricane MkI on his list of planes he hates to fly against in the CT. ;)

Drive on the Reich by Jester gets... D+

1) The presense of the Tiger on Axis without counter-balance screws things up. Wish there was a way to perk a ride like 5 pts for one country and 10 pts for another.

2) Spit14, Spit14, Spit14, Spit14. That got really old after awhile. Spit14s should have been perked.

3) The fuzzy dar settings made finding a fight seriously annoying.

4) The Uber-AAA was a serious pain in the butt until Jester fixed it. For this comment I'm actually increasing my grade from D.

5) The keeping of the Tempests, 262s, 152s, 163s, B17s, and Lancasters in rear area restricted bases almost worked correctly. I only saw a single formation of Lancasters the whole week. Which is too few. Never saw B17s which is way too few. As for all the fighters it would have been better if each side had 3 bases to launch each AC from, one in the N, one S, and one in the center.

6) Resetting my Perk Points sucked and has been covered in detail in Jester's setup post. It screwed me up, it screwed others up, it caused a bunch of people to simply not fly in the CT. You all think this is the correct way to handle things but your wrong.

Drive on the Reich - A+ for me. Some of the best fun I've had in the CT recently was fighting SpitXIV's in an A5. Personally, I don't see a reason to wet myself as soon as I see one of the Spitfires in a setup.

Ahhh .... so the Hurri MkI is indeed on your CT aircraft "whinelist." Ain't THAT a corker? So, would you like this "BoF" camp to pare the fighter list down to just the P-40b for the Allies? Heh ... I bet. Well, until then .... don't try to turn with a Hurri. And certainly don't try to tangle with one all solo-like. "Alpha males" be droppin' like flies when they do that. ;)

Ahhh. So you don't have a problem with the Hurricane MkI .... or the map .... just the setup in general, for some non-specific reason. Gotcha. You "Alpha males" can apparently be as inscrutable as women at times. :D

Got 5 kill sortie in 110 w MG/FF today Storch. All A2A kills, no vulches, 3 were 1v1 engagements. Maintained fire discipline and only used the MG/FFs majority of time firing the MG17s for "make them think" moments.

No they aren't Hispanos or MG151/20s but they can be made to work.

Try out what I suggested on CH1 today. I'll do same... we can compare results.

Don't like "early war stuff" or don't like "early war stuff in a Euro setting?" What happened to your gameface, John Wayne? Uh-member? Wasn't that you rallying the troops from the cockpit of your P-40 over the warm Pacific waters? ;)

Oh well ... everyone's entitled to an opinion and I suppose everyone's entitled to change them whenever they feel like. After all .... it's an "alpha male's" prerogative to change their minds, I suppose. No wait ..... that's ....
;)

ShruG ... whatever

Ahhhh ..... an "F-" because the P-40B and Hurri I are too uber. Gotcha. :aok :lol

Well ... I hope Jazz's suggestion helps ya and you're less miserable for the rest of the tour. Good luck, "Mr. Alpha." ;) :D

You mean it's changed again?! Go figure. Nope ... ain't gonna ask what it is now. That'll just get you even more riled up, I reckon. Again .... good luck. I hope the new and improved tactic works and you rack up them kills, ma'am.
