Getting Organized
« on: August 17, 2000, 12:55:00 PM »
OK, after getting melleed by the zigrat express for the past several nights, its time for us rooks to get our act together.

This Alabama boy is gonna figure out this here "mission planner" thingamabob.

I'm wore out on 60-80% of our guys trying to take a distant undefended bishop field as a field closer to our HQ falls to the mongrel knight hordes, As 4 or 5 of us get the hell blown out of us many times over for no real gain, thats what happened at A19 last night 2 hours after some of us rooks got together and took it.

This game could be so much more fun for everybody if people would simply get together. This game has a great strategy system, its just that there are too many lethargic pilots, and, therefore isn't often used to its full extent, except for the knights.

The knights, right now are organized and seem to really enjoy kicking our asses.

Come on on rooks!

Are we gonna take this?!

NOOOOOoooooooooooo!!

Mason22 the problem we had last night was that Knights had more than both rooks and Bish combined and they would send 25-30 planes to a base at a time.

There is no way you can defend against an attack like that.

Granted the #s evened out after an hour or so but the damage was done by then.

Now Knights don't get me wrong this is not a complaint I'm just trying to explain to Mason22 why we lost so much ground last night.

Alabama boy huh. Now I see why I like ya hblair. I'm an ole southern boy too, Myrtle Beach SC here. Used to live in Pensacola Fl. when I was a kid and traveled thru Montgomery & Atmore Ala. alot. Nice state.

Zigrat, looks like the gauntlet has been laid and you are gonna have to bring out the plan book for those detailed strikes.

Cya tonight Bish & Rooks!

Amen hb!
Seen too many opportunities squandered, too many bases get taken to the point of capture, then everyone loses focus and lets the enemy get regrouped and then a 15 minute capture turns into a 2 hour "let's shoot 'em down instead" melee, the end result of which is the base remains in enemy hands, PLUS, we lose 3 to 5 others in the meantime.
Come on, rooks! Let's get it together!

hi all:

I will start with hblair, hi guy, how are you. well hblair, you need not try to use the mission planner, it does not work, so you and the rest of the Rooks just keep going on as you have been, your doing a great job.

Now for Might1, as for last night you said there where twice as many Knights on as there where Rooks and Bishops. I have to ask, where were you flying. I was here last night and it looked pretty even to me, and the Knights where with out radar for a while as the Rooks and the BIshops were hitting us. but we Knights did hold out and fight back and started taking a few fields. the only time it seemed to go against the Rooks and the Bishops was when they decided to fight each other a bit and no longer double teamed us Knights. and I think the only time the Bishops really got hurt at all, was when there radar was knocked down for a short time, I'm not sure who knocked dowb the Bishop radar. I think we Knights did, but it might have been the Rooks. but not wanting to go into who did what, or why this happened or that happened, thats not what this responed is about. all I'm saying is it was pretty even on all three teams last night, nobody had a big advantage in numbers.

Wolf37 I flew for a couple of hours that night (9:30-11:30?)but I just can't remember the exact time.
When I came on I was going to fly for Knights but saw that they had almost 60 people so I flew Bish who had about 25(rooks had 35).

This is in no way a complaint just trying to let you know that the #s were very lopsided for a little bit. By the time I left the #s were pretty much even.

Also this is NOT a complaint for 2 sides or trying to keep sides even it's just a FYI statement
