I've been involved in some pyschologic studies recently and we've been studying the significance of naming objects, especially the naming of mechanical objects by men (such as cars etc) with names of animals, references of power etc, and the relationship between those objects and the men that use them.
Now the basic idea is that the name is used to enhance the object, often trying to make it appear more than it is. It also has a relationship to enhancing the guys way he feels about himself, and is often used to attract men suffering insecureness, and yes - in some cases - with small anatomical bits on their bodies.
So if we apply this to AH, what does this say about the various Mustang, Spitfire, Lightning, and Thunderbolt pilots?
Obviously it indicates these pilots suffer some sort of insecurity, or have small weenies, or both.
Whereas this theory shows that 190, 109, Yak, and even N1K pilots (who don't feel the need to fly a plane named after some sort of animal or electrical weather occurrance) are confident, have no personal issues and have normal sized or even large weenies. I suppose applied properly even buff pilots are okay to (B26, B17).
Your thoughts?
