This post has a two-fold purpose.

1. To thank Ghosth for last night's training session.

2. To implore other newbies to swallow your pride and try the training room.

The training was cut short by my wife, who wanted to "snuggle" last night...but the 45 minutes that I had with Ghosth was invaluable. Basically the trainer takes up a plane and you take one up too. We had Roger Wilco set up, which is critical (in my estimation)and then we did some dog-fighting. Ghosth shot me down practically at will to begin with, but gradually helped me to understand how to fly in AH, and helped me with some merging tactics. Then we went to the setting page and he helped me sort out my joystick settings, which were totally FUBAR...but now I have incredible control over my plane that I simply did not have before...

We will be hooking back up in about a week to see how things are going for me in the MA.

Try it guys....it will make your flying experience in AH so much better!

Ghost is good people, and a great choice for trainer. Congrats to you for seeking help that is available for free. Yes, the new people need to follow your lead.

I know without a trainers help<Ghosth>I probably would have quit because of frustation.
They are a valuable tool in AH for anyone.

Training IS important to getting a leg up in this game. It can be endlessly frustrating to simply die in the MA and not know why or what to do about it. This won't help maintain new folks in the game.

Only suggestion I have is that there needs to be MORE trainers in the TA. there is a chronic shortage there and lots of newbies are desperately asking questions and getting little or no help.

Something to keep in mind when trainng, Film.. This is a value added feature in AH and its just not used enough. Film your training sessions, review them as many times as you need to, using all views.. Inside cockpit,outside F3, F4. These can also be emailed to others for a critique on you habits (good or bad) and sent back to you with a breakdown of needed improvements.

HT has given us a very usefull tool in AH, use it.

New AND Old, it's worth going to the training arena. So far, i can fly with a wing in one hand, beer in lap, and stick in the other hand. (of course, that kind of training only comes from the right squad

).

Wardog...great idea...but if people see my films I will probably be the laughing stock of AH!!

I stalled a zero like 3 times, in a simple turn last night...although that WAS before Ghosth helped me with my joystick...so perhaps that is forgivable.
