I wonder how AH subscriptions are doing...
« Reply #15 on: December 02, 2003, 10:04:04 PM »
Kept the sub running, but have barely flown...and hour here or there for quite a few months now....I unfortunately can't even really remember the last real good update, (but still hope for the big one with the beaufighter)

Have seriously considered going and giving WW2OL another go with old bunch of WB squaddies reforming the RNZAF there...

I'm curious as to how the subscriptions for AH are versus, say 12 months ago.

Higher? Lower?

What do you guys think?

BTW, I'm sold on WW2OL...

I'm going to D/L it tonight...

Why would subscriptions matter to you? If you enjoy it, play it.....if not, don't.

I completely disagree...but then I usually do.

BTW, yes it is blue...otherwise it would be yellow.

And please remember that the firehose is located in the front of the building.

I'm just trying to figure out if it's just me getting tired of a game I've been playing for a while, or if other people are feeling the same way, and  maybe the game itself is just long in the tooth.

My moboard fried 2 weeks ago and took my GF3 and modem along for the ride...I have been sans AH ever since. It's a 3 hour round trip to Fry's to get a new one.

Bodhi, my work email is jdahlen@us.ibm.com.

But if you want a quicker way to join No.66 Commandos, just hop over to AGW and make a thread addressed to Dslick or No.66 Commandos. Dslick is the CO, and has the squad registration key.

Lizking, sorry man. I *thought* you were more conservative, but I seem to have miscalculated. Apologies from me to you.

Sigh, I wish CRS could learn some netcode skillz from HTC.

Last night was flying over Le Toilet (west side of map)... well Axis call it Le Toilet. I was closing in on a Spit V, because of the dead 6 issues I like to get in real close, so I was 50 yards off this guys 6 and he lagged, lagging in WW2OL isn't like AH, in WW2OL they insta-stop for a brief moment. BAM I end up colliding with him (of course he doesn't see the collision and keeps on flying).

Then theres all the invisible ETs at the moment (appears to be happening to both sides, but so far only Axis players have screenshoots of it).

And the game really needs a structural damage model. Its kind of fun strafing a Stuart then accidentally hitting the deck, belly landing, hitting G as quick as you can, then taking off (hoping like mad the stuart gunner doesn't spot your 109 on the ground). But it is kind of cheesy.

And next time I hear a WW2OL groupie scream "ww2ol is superior because it doesn't use a hit point based DM" I'm gonna strangle him. Because theres no hit points theres no cumulative damage system, ie if your 1st 50mm AP shell got 99% through an armour plate, your 2nd AP shell treats the plate like a virgin piece of armour. It also makes it impossible to saw wings off aircraft, the so called 'DM upgrade' is nothing more than lift/drag performance degradation to the flying surface (ie 1 303 hole and the wing loses 1% lift).

Been spending some time flying in the Target: Rabaul Open Beta and really like it. I believe that is where I will end up if AH2 falls flat. I have kept and flown my sub in AH but its not the same as the past due to a few little things but AH2 looks promising. I will never return to the sinking ship of WB and I know I will not be back in WW2OL at all. I have just recently completed a 2 week trial AGAIN and the issues I wrote a billion bug reports about in the Closed Beta Boards for a year are still there. The biggest thing with WW2OL for me is what I call "the pilot kill" that happens when you give a quick push on negative G's from level flight. At the highest time of my flights in WW2OL My pilot passed out with -1 G I hit the ground and saw my (by all outward appearances) undamaged plane sitting there on the ground. I couldn't wake up because in the brief neg G I witnessed the skull and crossbones on the person life indicator.
