Went and saw this tonight...

Dont even waste your money.  I read the book years ago and was really hoping for it to be good... sadly it was far from it.

Paul Walker and acting should not be used in the same sentance.  He behaved the same way in 1357AD as he did in the Too Faster Too Furiouser flicks.  I have no idea who cast him, but it was a bad move.

No standout performances - not even close to the book in many aspects - and some very vital information found in the book was left out of the movie.

Plot was difficult to get into as the movie did a poor job of making everything believable.  The forced dialouge didnt help either.

Really a let down.

Thanks for the review. I too read the book when it was first published and thought it was ok but nothing too original. Still, will likely rent the DVD, Netflix is great.

Yea, when I saw a review and it showed the kid from Fast & Furious on it, I never gave it a second thought.  Apparently he's some super famous model boy....I hope he's good at it, he certainly cant act.

If you want a pretty good scifi read about time travel try:

Timescape by Gregory Benford
