hi i found out that my intel card wont play aces high 2 so im looking for a card that well run it my max price is 200$ i was thinking about the ATI Radeon 9600 pro. card can you tell what card would be good for my pc

System Manufacturer: HP Pavilion 04

Processor: Intel(R) Celeron(TM) CPU 1300MHz
Memory: 254MB RAM

plz tell me if you need more but i would need you to tell me how to get more or were

il be happy if i get 17 frame rates in aces high 2 with a new video card the one i got now wont even play it at all

You can get the 9600XT (faster than the Pro and less power hungry) for less than $200 here

On the 9600XT, what's the difference between the one with DDR and the one without, other than the price?

There is no 9600XT with or without DDR. It comes in one flavor.

In the 9600 family there is the:

9600SE (marketing product; stay away from it)
9600 (same as the Pro, with slower ram)
9600Pro

The above products are all based on the RV350 ATI GPU, which is a low cost version of the R350 (9800 family) (half the number of pipelines is the basic diference).
The R350 is a .15 micron part, while the RV series are .13 micron parts.

9600XT is based on the RV360 GPU. While having the same basic specs as the RV350, the big difference is this is the first chip to successfully make use of low-k dielectric technology, which allows for higher clocks and significantly less power consumption (i.e. much less heat).

Some of the third party suppliers of ATI products are putting faster RAM on their version of the 9600XT, and raising the clocks on the RAM for better performance.
The GPU on the 9600XT can overclock very well (some sites have reported successful clocks up to 625Mhz).

The "AA" model is an OEM card. This means it comes in a plain white box, with the driver CD and nothing much else. That is why it is cheaper.

The "33" model is the full ATI retail package, which also includes a voucher to obtain the full version of Half-Life 2 for free, when it becomes available. Pretty good deal, if ya ask me.

There's a very large performance difference between any 5200 series card and a 9600 Pro or XT. The 9600 XT is at least 2x the speed of a 5200 standard. That said, an FX5200 is probably fast enough to play AH 2 at 20 fps when it is finally done.

id like to hear from anybody who can make ah2 palyable with pc133 or less, my old puter is a 1.7gHz with 768 pc133 gf ti4200 and i couldnt get near a airfield without sever stutter.
