AH2 online and no one home?
« on: December 04, 2003, 05:18:04 PM »
Funny how we where are screaming for AH2(myself the loudest).
Well guess what boys and girls It Is here at least in beta form online.
But the sad part Is there is hardly more than 10 people there at any one time.

So what happend to all the people crying for AH2?
You do know that It IS highly playable In It's current form.
And you can shoot each other down and every thing.

The flight model Is great and a blast to fly.
Ht Pops In from time to time and I'm sure He feels real good to just see 10 people in there!

Come on help out with the beta people and you know something you might just have a good time.

Oh and all you that will say My computer won't play it .
And all that stuff.

Well It might just be time to upgrade

So flame away as I'm sure I have ticked some of you off.
But you know what I really don't care!
I just think It was silly that there is so little participation In the online beta.
There my 2 cents.

DUDe it's easy to take off in the spit.
Here's how.
Start off with NO throttle and In auto take off.
Slowly give it gas to about 1/8 throttle let it roll abit.
then go 1/4 let it roll.
then go alittle more gas at this point you will see the wiggling is slowing down.
Slowly increase the throttle till full and there you are.
nothing to it.

happy flying.

Take a look in the Tour of Duty forum if your having troubles taking off.  I've posted a tutorial from a website I found about how to take of in a Spitfire.  Just seems odd that the characteristics are the exact opposite of how they should be according to the pilots testimony.

An added touch of realism - fact is with all these high powered single engine planes, you cannot jam the throttle to full from a dead stop in the real world. Torque simply would flip you over.

The problems with the Spit (and c47) take off/landing has been fixed.  The fix will be in the next beta release.  It was actually an (my) art bug :o, not a flight model bug.
By the way, those of you that are having lock ups and low fps need to make sure you list your system specs and issues in the AH2 Open Beta Bug Reports Forum.  Also make sure you have the latest drivers for all your hardware.
We can't fix bugs that we don't know about, so heed the call!  In this way, by giving a little something back to the AH community, we can move on to greater heights. :aok

"its playable in it's current form"
 OK-
Tonite I'll download it on my P3 933, Geforce MX420, SBlive, win98 system & see what we get. I catch mid-high 60s FPS in "classic MA".

I havent DL TOD yet because I have limited flight time & not willing to use it until the game is playable. But someone said its "playable", Guess I'll check it out & report what I find.

More to come-
