AW is dead,  FA III is where "l33t f1g4t3rplane sn1p3r5" play an aircombat arcade "game", WBIII doesn't know what it wants to be and isn't very good at any one thing that it can do,  flying in WWIIO is pure tragic-comedy and Target-Whatever is nice IF you have a Cray supercomputer to run it's mediocre graphics on.
So IMO for right now and in near future MMPOG AH-II is the only thing in the works that holds any "promise" and even those "promises" have been imagined and created up by those trying to keep tabs on. There's not been much from HTC to base any concrete speculation or solid hope on.

IMO at this point if Oleg announced IL2 was going MMP I think you'd see some real excitement and people eager to beta test.

Yup, I think so, too.

IMO, HTC is shooting itself in the foot with its policy of abandoning the community and leaving only Skuzzy as hall monitor.

I wish for the return of the days when the principals flew and fought, engaged others on their BBS and dropped in occasionally on the game to virtually shake hands with their customer base.

We are nothing more to them now than a revenue stream and testing dolts. Sad.

I agree Horn. And that last observation in your post was why it was so easy for me to hit the "delete account" button.

But hey...    Tis the season to get sentimental and for remembering by gone days.

Speaking of.  I wish someone would chime in and call me a "disrupter" just for old times sake    ;)

It is so easy to sit back and view things negatively.  Horn, you and Westy made the choice to see things in a negative light.  That is your choice and you are entitled to your opinion, but I can say with certainty that it is also incorrect.

I would hope that other reading those views take it with a grain of salt, as there is simply no truth in those claims.  Sure, anyone can twist things around to fit a viewpoint, but it does not make the viewpoint right.

Would be interesting for a small company to persue the MMOL rights to the Il2 content and or what of the code engines they can use. The market is not big enougth to justify the effort to recreate all that content when it allready exists. As detail levels increase the time to create increases. So small companies end up spending a whole year to develop one model that allready exists.

The market is also not big enough to worrry too much about the big guys putting the effort into entering it.

Oh get over it already.  If you're too stupid to know that the 'dolts' he talked about were the people with unrealistic expectations for an open beta, then you deserve that label.

Every time you gripe about HT's post, you just reinforce the suspicion that YOU are exactly the type of person he was talking to.

Grow up and clean up that spilt milk.  You'll get no sympathy here.

I think  that the disparity in viewpoint or opinion is due to you're being on the inside and being privy to what's going on. And I would categorize my view as pessimistic and not necessarily negative.

So is it fair to say we're twisting things around when there's not much tossed out to the player base to even twist? Or is it more a case of perceptions developing due to the void caused from a lack of interaction (beyond policing of the boards) by the folks at HTC for so long?

Thanks for replying but IMnshO HTC just might get more bang for the buck by posting a small, two paragraph sized development update (a frequent one would be even better) rather than just jumping in to say don't listen to these two bozo's.

 All IMO of course.

And enough from me.  I don't want to appear to be argumentative or "bashing"

Nah, Westy's got a point.

A little blurb here and there would certainly rev the excitement level a bit.  Sure, we'd over react to it, read it differently and all sorts of stupidity...but a development update or a screen shot here and there would really be neat.

Throw us a bone here and there.  Its been a long ride, we're anxious to see what's brewing in HTC World HQ  :)

The beta has been great, how's about a few blurbs what's being refined, etc?

Flame at will.

Aces High is analogous to the B17 in 1945.  Outdated, mediocre performance, but reliable.

Aces High II is like the B29.  Neat when it works, but still working the bugs out.  Not really ready for combat yet.

However I'm pretty sure someone out there is working on an AR234.
