Actually, I was lured in by the appeal of assistance to those who might need it, you know, this being the season of giving and charity and all that.
Then all the talk about stripper poles and generalizations and class stereotypes and such and I just knew this was a thread for the ages.
When I was in college, my roommate was a stripper. Sort of.
He was on a scholarship for soccer, but he failed a drug test for 'roids and got booted. With no scholarship and no money, he turned to part-time "adult entertaining" to pay bills. He didn't do clubs - he was the guy that got hired to do the in-house bachelorette parties and such. You know, the guy in the fake cop uniform who would show up to write citations to the ladies for not having enough fun. I would tag along to hold his wallet, keys, bags, etc. and be "security" while he performed, not that he needed much security in an all-woman environment but there were times where some old sow would hit the bottle a little too much and get carried away. He didn't do full nudity - just some cheek in a string - and my job was to keep the crowd from going too far.
So its kind of interesting to see the reactions on this board to all this "stripper talk".
