lol, The Japanese atacked us because we started it basicaly( back when we forced them at gun point to trade with us), the Germans atacked the planet because we screwed them after ww1 ( we being the western powers). I am not sayoing that we were not right in our cause, but as Grunherz points out both events are similar in that their rute causes lie in the basic misunderstanding that exists(existed) between two totaly different cultures.
Hmmmm,
We're missing some basic history here folks. The Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor was the logical culmination of events that started in the 19th century. The primary goal was the creation of a Japanese empire focused primarily on the assets of the british and french in the pacific (the US having no real holdings). Japan was a nation with strong ambitions that found itself choked off from growth by european colonies in Asia. The Russo-japanese war of 1905 and invasion of Manchuria both are part of the same series of events.
As for Hitler, simply look at England under Chamberlain to find all your answers. Germany attacked the world because it was allowed to...nothing more nothing less...but yes they were overly abused after WW1.
As for 9/11 ... It was very similiar to Pearl Harbor, we have been at war with Muslim terrorists for well over 20 years...we simply didnt want to admit it or deal with it. We were actually "at war" with Japan for over 20 years as well...or rather both enities were at war with us. We have a sad history of ignoring threats to our well being from afar. As the world "shrinks" our isolationist heritage continues to cause endless issues.
In the end both were attacks by people with whom we had no real problems (from our end) and who underestimated both our resolve and cababilities.
