pc crashed, weird symptoms
« on: December 07, 2003, 01:54:19 AM »
so i came back to my pc one morning and then booted it. it booted up slower than normal and before i could get into the win2k login screen, this blue screen pops up and it reboots:(

so i format my c: partition and reinstall win2k. i bring up my computer and click on my old d: ntfs partition and "d: is not accessible, access denied" window pops up. omg!!! all my backups  are there! AH installer, stick and button settings and the rest of my watermelon cant be reinstalled wtf! oh well

did anyone else experience the same problem?

ill just leave my d: alone for a while and wait for some guru to check my pc

meanwhile, im downloading all my drivers and AH and dump it all in c:

why oh god why!!!

:(

wiggle the connections on your hard drive ... and check that it still is showing up in the bios ... also listen to it on lay your finger on top of it to beshure its still turning.

one other thing is if you have S.M.A.R.T  enabled in the bios , try disabling it then boot boot it up .

thanks for your replies

one of my friends who knows a lot more about win2k checked my pc and was able to mount my d:. it has to do something with when i changed the name of my pc, it couldnt access d: so he transferred the old admin rights to the newly installed admin.

i had an updated norton antivir software installed then so it most probably wasnt a virus. it could be some jerk friend of mine was messing with my pc while i was asleep, wont give him the admin password to him anymore.
