SO I went in for my followup today and I now have a new found hatred for dentists.

Turns out the skin over the holes were the crowns of my wisdome teeth used to be did not heal over so I have a "dry sockets"

Since I still have the roots and nerves still in there the dentist syringed some antiseptic in the sockets and that in itself hurt like hell.

Then he shoved some guaze through the wholes to help sooth the pain and keep food particls out.....lets just say that felt like a squar peg in a round whole....plus the ointment tastes like ASS

well at least i got more drungs.....more motrin 800s and now my new best friends.....perkacets (SP)....to help me sleep at night.

My Buddy and Fellow AH pilot Rutger is my dentist, and whenever one of them gets a serious cavity (which because of the location and nature of the teeth they do) he pulls it out.

The first one I was a bit late on (we had been watching it for a year) and it got to the toothache stage. I had to take antibiotics for a couple of days before he could pull it and even with tylenol 3 it was bad news. I'm pretty tolerant to pain but this was something else. Wake up in the middle of the night and rock on the couch bad.

I was about ready to shoot it out by the time I could get in to get it done. All was good with the world after that first novacaine injection. I have never been so happy to go to the dentist in my life. It was almost a religious experience.

Man, you all have to find better dentists  - you all still going to the backroom of a barber shop? Broken ribs? Hemoraging? jeez.
My dentist numbed me real well, cut the gum a little, stuck it the tool that broke the tooth, then pulled out the pieces and stitched me up. No pain and little bleeding. Sore the next day, but nothing 6 beers wouldn't cure.

mine the holes didnt close up and because the roots were to close to the main nerve he just cut the crowns off.  So now I have roots with open nerves exposed.

everytime I eat I have to inject salt water to flush out the holes.  I got a followup on thursday....maybe he'll stuff some more disgusting tasted ointment soaked gause in holes too small to fit.
