Now I know why German armor was so much better than ours.

They had bolt-on/welded on extra armor, we had roped-on.

that tank looks cheap.  Could it even withstand at 75mm panzer shell? IF it didnt h ave the ropes.

how can you possibly say that??

snap on armor I'd say, judge it for yourself from the picture below.

Tigre I in typical combat trim.

how can that possibly compare to rope and sandbags??

please!

Was this where an american platoon stuck big pipes over the cannon in order to make it look bigger, like what avacados do with their car exausts these days.

Btw, that lego tiger proburly has more armor than the sherman.

The Tiger seems even to have Zimmerite on top surfaces...

Just try to smack a magnetic mine on that! :p

If it on the top you don't need magnetism, gravity will do the job quite nicely.;)

That cannon is way bigger than 35mm.  75mm at least.  Probably bigger.  Tough to judge relative size.

Looks like a "jumbo 8" forget the official designation but it was an uparmoured version issued 1 to each tank platoon toward end of 44. Basically it was lead tank in platoon. It only had the short 75mm gun, not the more powerful long 76mm. Obviously the crew would add anything else they could find to the front of the tank:). Turret looks like the "enhanced" one used on the jumbo.

M4A3E2...looked it up.

M4A3105, it is:)

The sandbags, were intended I beleave to defeat shaped charged weapons like the Panzerfaust/Panzerschrek, they would have little/no effect on Normal high velocity AP rounds.
