Surprise Planes - B29, variable performance

How's this for an idea. Since we have no way of assigning planes to people why don't we have "surprise/bonus" planes.

e.g. there is a 1% chance that when you pick a B17 to fly and set the load that you will actually get a B29 (and get this) with a NUKE. All enemies will know when they see this B29 they better shoot it down and all fellow fighter pilots would know they should protect it.

In the war no two planes were alike. There was always one fighter that performed better/differently than another of the same make. So why not give us fighters with variable performance. e.g. a 5% chance your fighter will have a superior engine/flight performance than normal (because your mechanic really rocks) or a 5% chance your engine/flight performance is subpar (your mechanic is an alcoholic  ). This might make people try to keep their trusty P51 if it's particularly good.

Just some ideas to add more interesting elements to the game.

Fishu, from your, uh, "terse" post I assume that you disagree? btw the difference between AW/FA and WB/AH has always been the flight model. It's NEVER been an issue of what capture fields/features there are in the game.

I wasn't saying the implementation of super planes I was just saying to vary the performance of the same model somewhat.  I'm sure that happened during the war depending on how well the planes were maintained.

I'm really confused here.. I people like Fishu just aren't interested in any sort of novelties added to the game. 3-4 years ago I thought the concept that we have today (flying + shooting + capturing fields) was great. Now however I find it old and tedious. In order to keep things interesting the game has to be improved. I'm just suggesting the implementation of extra "surprise" elements to make things that more interesting. Having a single b29+a NUKE once a day and a variable plane performance is not unrealistic at all.

I am up for simulation, not for arcade best sellers.
Wouldn't be much of simulation to be able to use a-bomb as you wish (only couple were used and those werent like 2000lb bombs available for everyone)
Boosting up the planes.. if you get 5% more power off the plane, isn't that already major general change which already is a new version of current model?
aka 109 and its 'few' different versions.

You can have your nuke right after the LW gets all the "V weapons"

HAHA,
I like your idea of adding some variability to the planes performance, don't particularly care for the nuke idea, though it would be cool to have a b-29.

Right now I am looking forward to the B-26 bomber because it will be faster and climb better albeit with a lighter load than with the 17.

The strictly field capture thing does get old after a while, but by taking different missions, i.e. fighter vrs buff, c-47 vrs buff, c-47 vrs fighter, fighter sweep vrs bombing run, fighter escort vrs fighter sweep, etc. you can add some change to the way you play the game.

I am looking forward to the time we get some flackpanzers in the game. Will make field defence a little more interesting. Will be nice too to get some other targets such as trains and tanks and such.

Things are evolving and we should see more details vrs just new planes comming up in the next few versions.

BTW, you need to understand that some players are just grinches... :-)

...all the way to its ceiling of 22K. I like the Marauder too!
