A good lean chuck roast works fine.
Cut out the bigger fat chunks. You'll have a little waste but the price is right.

Personally I like Teriyaki, garlic powder, seasoning salt, dash of pepper, Onion powder.

Step 1: Drive to Tillamook
Step 2: Buy beef jerky
Step 3: Eat beef jerky

Repeat as necessary.  Don't live near Tillamook?  Well, that sucks for you.  :)

I use Dale's sauce too. Its readily available here in FLA. I usually put some rickey's or luisianna hot sauce in the batch along with some garlic powder and black pepper.

I've always done mine in a dehydrater, but I need to try the smoker next time.
