Grade the Fin/Rus Setup 12/05/03 - 12/11/03

Grade: C-

1) Dar range was way too long like it always is in this setup. Along with Base warnings.

2) Far too much of the M3 capture runs. I'd like to see this setup done with M3s enabled only at Vehicle Bases. This way only Airbases with spawns from Vehicle Bases are threatened by M3 captures.

I'd like to see this setup done with late war planes D9s and G10s vs LA7s and Yak-9Us. The plane set might look like this...

Axis
109G6
109G10
110G2
190D9
190A8
JU88
JU87

Allies
LA7
LA5
YAK-9T
YAK-9U
A20
B26

Grade: A-

Perfect setup for the time period. Dual Air Forces for Axis side was very well done. Map is nicely done.

Maybe up field capture to 15 troops to avoid milk running.

Grade A-

One of the most enjoyable set ups we have had IMHO

Thought it was balanced fairly well, although I would have liked to see more accesibility for the 190's.  The La5 seemed to be a pretty dominating plane.

I am at best a "mediocre stick" and was able to kill with almost impunity using the La5. Just think the 190 would have evened the playing field out a little more closely (although I understand why it was limited, given the scenario).

Loved the map.

Cheers, and well done

A for plane set, D- for use of the third country to define the battle area. Same plane set, same fight, same field (A1) over and over and over and over and over again. I love this terrain I just wish more of it was used.

I'll go with A-. Great map, great skins. The La-5 was too difficult a plane for me to handle. :) But nice fights anyway, had a fun week. :D

Regarding the late war planes people have been suggesting for this map (G-10, Dora, La-7), Finland and Russia entered peace in August 1944. So any plane after that is historically incorrect in this map.

[edit] The radar range was way too long for this map. [/edit]

Someone said that he had Owned people with la-5 . Well he definately didnīt fly when LLv34 was online, because la-5 is pretty easy meat for 109G2, if flown properly.

But I also managed to kill 109īs easily with La5, when 109 pilots messed up.

So in overall this is the best way of playin AH IMHO , if playing Without nmy icons is not an option.

Planes were evenly matched, but as stated earlier, the radar range was too good. Maybe using only sector bars and banning clearer picture?

Also reduced icon range makes gaming more challenging because now you really can disengage/surprise enemies and blend with really good textures.. its pretty hard to notice a plane from above without icons....

Which I count as a positive thing
