why is there night in MA?
« on: December 11, 2003, 05:20:52 PM »
I haven't had any spare time to play AH in over a week,  I finally have a few hours spare so i decided i would do some furballing.  Log in and it's night.:(    Why is night even in MA?

No idea why, maybe its to give the servers a rest. It always seems like night falls at primetime-

Night is stupid in a day VFR fighter game. However, that's not where AH is now and it's going further away. We're all headed for a "WW2OL Done Right" game, so get used to it.

IMO.

Night is HT's tool to get us away from our computers so we can get some exercise.  If we die, then his revenue stream is gone.  So he added night to the MA to drive us away from our computers for at least a few minutes a day, during which we will hopefully exercise vigorously (or at least manage feeding, elimination, and basic hygiene), therefore extending our lifespans as revenue generating units.

I use night to go to the bathroom, go to the store and buy beer, go get some chinese food/pizza/chili-cheeseburger/nachos.  I also use it to test out the gamma settings on my vid card and if the brightness button on my monitor works.

Toad in RL you wouldn't be working all day and wanting to have a quick fight or two for the hour spare you have.

Normally i would play something else when night comes, but seeing how little time i've had to play AH, when i log on i actually want to be able to play.

HT put night in for the same reason a kid pokes a monkey through the bars with a stick.  It's fun to watch you squawk and flap your arms in indignation.

I think night definately has a place in the MA, but it sure would be easier to defend it if icons were reduced in range, there were spotlights, night friendly instrument panels, landing lights, and so on.  I look forward to seeing what they do w/ AH2's night, I'm sure there will be some of the above enhancements and when there is, some of the whining should subside.
