So what's this then? Scotch mist? - and don't forget - this is Euro time.

Unfortunately Beet1e took his example of his furball off the site.  I'll surmise it was a pic of 4 cons on one and a 2 cons on one about 1 to 2k away.  It made a total of 5 on 3 does taht sound like a furball?

BTW  Beet1e if you had any balls you would have keft the pic up.  It's obvious you dont.  However the pick you posted was funny.  So be a man and puck your original pic back.

Does anyone have a good shot of a real furball?

Please post so the strat guys have an idea of what a real furball is.  Maybe then then they will actually know what they are talking about.

This looks more like a dust ball.:lol

I suppose you may wanna define the numbers required to constitute your "furball"?

I find more than 5-10 vs 5-10 more of a CF than a furball.

Yeah,

Hey Iron, pardon my ignorance, what do you mean by cf.

So BBS community what would the numbers be.  I would have to say the minimum, 10 on 10 would constitute a small furball.  I would think 25 on 25 would be more accurate.

I'd guess he means "cluster fox"

Sorry mars, the filter would get it. I'll paraphrase, more than 10 on 10 may still be a furball but not my idea of fun.

Yeah, REAL FUN is being one of 30 inbound base takers against 3 or 4 base defenders still sitting in the tower looking at the dar bar when the fuel tanks start exploding.

Right, Iron?

ya know mars.... these days even that is an action packed furball for me.    It's close to the ground and fairly even numbers...  I would settle for finding those close to the base but...

the 10 v 10 or more that are being fed from a close base or CV.... welll... that's what gets the blood going!

Yeah, tell me bout it Laz.  I have to admit though, there were some nice big  furballs Friday night when I logged in around 10pm est.  I couldn't believe it.  Thank god for the CV groups on BI.

My definition of a furball is an air-to-air engagement between a group of fighters.

If I had to put numbers to it...

2+ v 2+ = small furball
7+ v 7+ = medium furball
15+ v 15+ = large furball

The numbers above assume (1) planes more or less engaged within icon range of each other while others may be just out of view as dots etc., (2) net number of planes in a fight since some will be entering or leaving the fight.

Awe come on Toad. You know I often go in groups of 6-8 for base capture, rarely more than that.

I rarely if ever survive large furballs, just to many to keep track of and many times the fight has become too lopsided by the time I get there.
