Stop it you guys!  geez, I spend so much time reading all the dweebery here, I dont have time to go play.  (all in fun, dont take it serious)

I would like to say that mars, from the times I have seen him fly, is a pretty good stick.  I dont know if I agree about the scores being completely relevent, but i doseewhere you can learn a bit about where others are successful and you are not.

My K/D...terrible
K/H...not so good either
K/S...worse
hit%..comes and goes, but generally 6%....sad, so sad.

But I dont know that i really want to play differently so that I can change these numbers.  I generally have more fun with smaller groups around, even if its just me against 3 or 4.  Getting a 10v10 between 2 close bases is a blast, but its something pretty rare in my experience.  Get more than that and I lose the fun factor and it becomes a situation where I am pressing to keep my base from being porked, or to stay alive, because it is getting porked or vulched (and I want to try to stop the vulching but usually just die trying).  I dont do well in bombers or GV's, so dont like doing that as much, but constantly getting killed in fighters is annoying.

For me, I just want to feel like I put up a decent fight as I sit in the tower and ponder my next flight.  Even that is becoming rare.

There are a certain number of people that can look at almost anyone thumping their chest and think to themselves...  I'd mug the crap outta that guy in a fight.

And there are a certain number of people that think that the more they post about how great they are, the more people will believe it.  Generally, the "Score potatos" fit in the second group.

LOL,

Aww Jackal likes to push buttons and antagonize - he doesn't say or do much else on these boards, so I like to have a little fun with him. lolh:D

Thanks blk.  Ditto.  It wasnt until I started caring about my score that I actually started to improve.  It made me think about the situation more and how best to approach it, rather then just flying in and potato peeling up.  Made me care about surviving to RTB.  I dont take it overbord, if the job needs to be done I will pay the ultimate price lol.  I agree worrying about your score all the time is no way to play this game and will likely ruine the game for anyone.

Scores are telling if you can read them right.  Are they a perfect science no.  Are there extenuating and mitigating circumstances that affect score, yes.  Do you have to look at the stats page to see what the person predominantly flies to get a better picture, yes.  All in all the score is a decent way to get a feel for the type of player the person is.  Since it is the only measuring stick in here other than the DA, I guess we have to live with it.

So those with a crappy score will say score means nothing, those with a decent score will say score is not totally accurate but it is telling.  The rest will fall somewhere in the middle.  I honestly think this is a good discussion both ways .

There is no chest beating here.  I am an average pilot at best.  There are alot better in AH than me, as my score shows.

Wow Jackal fifty three hours..day 16

178 kills and a 199 deaths.

With time you'll improve..

Get some sun tho..

...when you can

For what it's worth, your comments on "gameplay" may represent a common concensus.

Which is unfortunate.

But hey, your having fun doing what ever you do for a hundred or so hours a month..

You go !!

Amen  BLK... if ya havin fun... you are gettin your $'s worth.
Numbers don't prove much other than perhaps flying style... best 1v1 dudes in the game have relatively unremarkable scores... check our Lev, Wldthing, .. and others (no offense to those I didn't mention)

Conversely, check out guys like Metatron..,  good numbers but  completely unknown if he has any skills because he is either alt-whoring or spawncamping.  I'd bet he has mediocre skills and does what he does in an attempt to mask his on insecurities in the game, and life.

That's pretty funny Steve. I bet you check my score more than I do. Looking at it now I think I could take #1 GV score by driving one PT boat. That sucks because it bores me worse than reading your drivel.

YA know, I once ended a tour ranked in the high 300's.  Thought "now I'm starting to get this game.

Then everyone else improved! :p :D

Nah, this wouldn't have a high enough impact on your K/D.
