Keeping in mind that this is HT,s game and none of this with be incourparated. What would your game be like if you made one.

Mine would be very simple. The guns would not work outside of 250yrds. I mean at all, no hit sprits nothing. Inside of that range the bullit radius would be about 3 times what it is in AH. If you lit someone up, you got a kill, period. Packet loss or no. It would be axis v allied. No icons and no zoom. but there would be radar. It would not be knocked out because there would be no bombers. The FM would be where AH seems to be heading. Except WEP would work like it does in FA, to save a button on the jstick. Ack would have to be manned or it would not work. The feilds would be bombed by fighters that carried bombs. CV,s would work the same way (torpedos). NO choo choo,s or tanks. This is strickly a fighter pilots fantasy.

Hmmm. An arcade game but with realistic FM. Would the planes be "playbalanced" so that each side is even on hardware terms? They would have to be, otherwise the Axis ends up with fighters designed to intercept bombers, not dogfight other fighters. And what to call it...

QuakeBirds 3 Arena ?

Well, im willing to dog fight in a 190. But, japan was in the axis. Zeke,s ki,s so forth. Wouldnt have any magical P51,s anyway. They would have to BnZ the way god intended.

I'm more of a combined arms kind of guy myself.  My game wouldn't be a flightsim, but include tanks, fighters, bombers, carriers and subs.  However, mostly army and aircraft doing the fighting. No infantry, and surface ships would be carrier and cargo ships with escort ships.

I would model only one or two of the major manufactured aircraft per side and be done.  Two fighters and a single bomber.

Same for ground vehicles.  A tank or two per side, one artillery piece, and one scout car.  Scouts would be good for taking out artillery, but never tanks, and of course scouting.

One super plane/tank/ship would be included for use in two situations.  Rewards for successful missions (score), but resets your score to zero after being used.  Also these units would be available for free during lopsided sides situations when one nation has more players than the other.  The weak side would develope vunder veapons to counteract the numbers imbalance (like the Germans tried to do in real life).  When the sides are on par again, the vunder veapons are shelved and not available anymore (except for players who have high scores they wish to spend for single sorties).

Navy units would be cargo fleets and carriers fleets only.  WW2 battleships and cruisers were nice, but and carrier planes did the real damage.  Fleets start in ports, but can be steered by letting players spend their score points to set waypoints (again resetting that guys points to zero).  Cargo fleets can be used to spawn army units at (in a form of a landing craft that becomes your vehicle when you run aground).

Axis and Allies, but a non-historic map for gameplay, though nothing fantastical like 5000 foot canyons.  It could be a real place except for size of the borders.

Gameplay would be capture the flag.  Towns are flags and are captured only by army units touching the flagpole in the middle of town.  AI defensive gun positions do protect all towns.

Sim realism would be high.

Hans.

Ok here is my game....be advised its a little complicated.  Tries to combine a little bit from every genre out there

The game provides the user with the option to either serve in the air force, army, navy or even special ops.  Each player has to roll-up their own individual as they get "recruited" into the service.  If you decide to join the air force, you can choose to specialize in the P51 Dweebstang or Dweebfire and pull sustained 9G turns as long as you got E.  If you fly a plane you dont specialize in, you take negative roll modifier to your head-on chances and other gunnery skills.  Every kill you make earns you more experience you can then use to increase your skills in Head On Attacks, ACM, Landing or even Aerobatics.

The cool thing is that if you choose not to be a pilot in the air force, you can be a ground crewman.  Imagine how much fun it would be to be able to outfit Wardog's Mustang with a brand new belt of 50cal ammo!  Or maybe, take a few rounds out of Fishu's belt just for the fun of it!

You can even join the army as a paratrooper.  Your country is just about to take an enemy base and a call goes out across channel 2, "Need drunks to Field 1 for trip to Field 8!"  You report to F1, climb aboard someones goon and then hurl yourself out of the plane when you are over the enemy base.  On your way down, enemy fiters are buzzing you trying to kill ya as you reach the ground and God forbid the ack suddenly rebuild as you are helpless in the chute!  Once you reach ground, you race for the maproom, dodging rounds from enemy infantry as you shoot in a real 1st person mode, accellerated in 3D!  Choose from a set of weapons including M1 Carbines, Thompson Submachine guns and have new weapons released every week!

You can also register for the Special Services.  Become a spy and petition Lord HiTech for various online quests.  The Spitfire has lost its Holy Merlin engine and is now just a regular plane.  It becomes your job to journey through Britannia and fite hoards of deadly griffins and dragons in your search for the ultimate engine.  Engage in roleplaying with other spies and even take part in dynamic events where Pyro and HiTech play the parts of various NPCs.

Since this game is really a virtual world, you also the option of spending some of your booty on buying property online.  Get a plot of land close to the airfield so in the event of a scramble you are one of the first in the air or save some cash by purchasing further away from the airfield where the property prices are lower.  Wanna slum?  Forgo housing and find yourself a box but be careful...you can also get sick here so you might want a nice warm house in the middle of winter.

You also have the option of pursuing a regular job instead of following one of the more honorable yet deadly professions found in the armed services.  Be a carpenter and make a living building tables and chairs for some of the other "Sims" in the game.

When life gets boring, you can even round up some of your online buddies and get a game of baseball up.  You are free to play on any team, at any position and positional 3D graphics allow you view the game from that position.  Look down on hitters from your pitchers mound.  Choose from 5 different types of pitches and try to strike out the side.  Careful tho...your arm gets tired as the game progresses...maybe its time to ask one of your teammates for a little relief.  Play any position you want and when the side is retired, try to make contact with that little white ball!

Other recreational activities will be offered through the following months.  Not a baseball fanatic?  How about jousting?  Archery?  Thunderball?   Its all possible!

Who needs life when you got a simulation like this??
