Best QB/leader in the game? Or would you rather have Tommy Maddox?

He's good, and in this years NFL of parity, Philly could have what it takes to go all the way, of course they'll have play St.Louis most likely in the NFC championship game, but with Bulger at the helm, I'd take Philly in that possible match up.

Think he needs to thank Rush for the "incentive"?

He is a good QB. that is what was so weird about Rushes comment and the total lack of support mcnabb got from the other espn hosts. The guy is a player period. If you doubt it put him on the free agent market and see how many teams would trade thier white starter for him.

Hes alright - nothing overly special.

The birds are doing well right now because everyone on the team is playing their bellybutton off.  We have no stars, just a wide selection of very good players - McNabb is no exception; a good quarterback, yes - but a Montana, Elway, or Marino he is not.

Rush's comments did make alot of people in the industry stop and think... though I'm sure they've already forgotten most of it.

When the Eagle's were losing, nobody was willing to acknowledge the problem(s)... McNabb being one of them.  Now that they're winning, everyone's willing to call McNabb the best again.  Overated definately aplies.  As well as underated (defense and special teams).  Philly's cluster **** at running back is what killed them at the beginning of the season.  Having to rely on McNabb was obviously not the way to go.  Once again... overated.

I'd take McNair or Pennington over McNabb any day.

McNabb = Overrated. He's the Joe Theissmann of the day...without the lip and the team. The Eagles have a legit shot at The NFC Championship, but they are The Iggles and will find a way to blow it.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

I would take Pennington over anyone. It's funny though, the QB of my favorite team never gets any credit, and all he does is win.

You can be not as good as Chad Pennington or Steve McNair and still be a good QB not deserving of peoples scorn.
McNabb is a good quarter back and an asset to his team. He is in the top 1/3rd of the leage for sure.

He's in the top 50% in my book... there's much worse out there (especially this year)... but not much higher.  Dunno if I'd put Culpepper in the top 50% even.

Which quarterback were you talking about Pongo?  Green?  Bulger?  Can't be green... he has too much of a benifit from that front 5 to be fairly assessed.  Alot of quarterbacks would love to have that group pass blocking for them.

I look at McNabb and see a mediocre (at best) quarterback with the speed to get him out of trouble.  That moves him to just above mediocre.  There's alot of teams that would rather have him in the backfield, but not so many as people think.

McNabb is Kordell Stewart with a somewhat better arm and better decision making.  The best right now seems to be Manning, but I'm just not convinced he can will a team to win.  Look out for Rex Grossman next year.:D
