In the spirit of Christmas I thought I'd take some time and create some wallpaper for all the pony drivers out there. I originally made this for the guys in Warbirds, but I figured it might be well received over here too.
The image below is a 3d rendering of two aircraft from the 78th FS Duxford Eagles on an early morning sweep over the English channel. The pony in the foreground is mine (the Noah's Ark, after my 8month old son Noah) and the other belongs to Dslick (our CO) and is dubbed the Headhunter. Just right click the image and choose "Set as wallpaper".... MERRY CHRISTMAS!
For those interested in this sort of thing, some tech details... the 3d models in this image were created in 3dStudio Max v3.0 and took about 15 to 20 hours to create from scratch. The textures were created in Adobe Photoshop 5.5 and took a further 8 hours. The background was composited into the scene within 3dStudio with additional lighting effects added in Photoshop after the final render.
The models themselves were created for a short animation I'm doing for a client though now that they have original 78th FS textures on them, they will likely be used in our web site someplace once it's ready to go, hopefully by the new year.
Again, Merry Christmas to all!
