The other thread is too far gone to mention it there further. Any chance of the Beta Map getting updated and thrown into rotation with the smaller maps? I loved that map and have really missed it.

Skuzzy? Any ideas on this?...if not HTC updating, is it possible for a player to update what needs to be added? I've never worked on a map before so I have no idea.

Yup, agreed! The modified Beta map with the v bases in the canyons would go down a treat!

Would also love to see SFTERR again, the terrain with A1 in the centre of the map at 10k. That was one hell of a fun map!

SOB, a lot of players remember that map and really like it. But what most are forgetting is;

1) It only has about 12 airfields per country.
2) There are no vehicle fields.
3) No strat targets

I am trying to picture what 400+ players would be doing with only 12, or so, fields to fly from and destroy.

To update it would be an enormous task. The terrain was not designed for any vehicle use, and there is not much useable terrain around the outside edges of this 256 square mile map.

Skuzzy, the later version of the Beta map did have the vehicle bases in the canyons and was last in rotation about 2 years ago IIRC - the addition of the v bases went down a storm! I do agree that it would be a little busy though!

Any thoughts on the SFTERR?

Skuz, to read the posts of the most ardent furballers here, that map sounds like it would be a furballer's paradise.

Trinity is actually the beta terrain expanded into a 512x512 map

That is true. Thanks BF. I was digging around trying to see which one of the early maps was blown up to the 512x512 format.

Hmmm, I wonder if I'm thinking of a completely different map. Which one has the downhill VH runs to A27 and the pizza and beer in the NE corner? Never thought about the # of airfields Skuzz, but couldn't those be increased? Or is the actual area of the map smaller. Either way, I can see it'd take some doing.

Nah, it was a solid map, no islands. The pizza and beer were on a big hill with a base (maybe A19?) below it. I *think* it was before your time in AH.

Sob, that wasn't the beta.

It was the next one with the 10K mountain in the middle. That mountain got cut down in the next revision.

Skuzzy, I'm willing to pay almost any bribe to get the ORIGINAL BETA, with it's only 12 bases and near total lack of strategy back into circulation. That period was the most fun I've ever had in AH; it was the ne plus ultra of online gaming for me.

What would it take to resurrect that map with its simplistic strat and make it a separate arena choice? Limit the numbers to 100, fine by me. I'd wait to log in if necessary.

Please.. name a price.
